As announced back inFebruary, Nihon Falcom unveiled today video footage forYs IX: Monstrum Noxon PS4. The reveal was made during a stage event with Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo, at the Dengeki Game Festival 2019.
The gameplay showed two of the Monstrum characters and how each one of them has different “Movement Actions” they can use to travel around, and how one of them can even fly. A red-haired character which certainly looks like to be Adol, though wasn’t actually named such by Kondo, was shown too. Certain Movement Actions can also be used to attack or disable traps in dungeons.
This is the first time we see Adol, or at least someone who looks a lot like him, inYs IX: Monstrum Nox. Falcom mentioned before how the game takes place afterYs Sevenand features the oldest incarnation of Adol yet, and how he looks pretty different than usual. We can confirm this with our own eyes now. His hair is longer than usual too and he has a short ponytail like hairstyle. Kondo also revealed that Adol is 24 years old inYs IX: Monstrum Nox.
Ys IX: Monstrum Noxis scheduled to release in Fall 2019 in Japan for PS4. Falcom usually releases their games on the last days of September especially, so ifYs IXdoesn’t end up delayed, there’s a very high chance it’ll launch then as well. The game wasn’t announced in the west yet but will definitely come over just like pastYsgames.
Update:You can findhere a summaryof all the new information Kondo revealed onYs IX, and how he wishes to remakeYs V. Kondo also clarified during the event how the gameplay videos have no User Interface like an HP bar because they aren’t done with it yet. Same with the music. I’ve also added below two other recordings I’ve made showing the white-haired Monstrum girl and the blonde Monstrum, along with the Adol gameplay video. Keep in mind the quality is far from optimal, and this article should be updated once more when Falcom and Dengeki re-uploads all the gameplay officially once the event ends.
Update 2:Dengeki Online reuploaded the entirety of the stream. You can find the gameplay sequences in much better quality than my trashy captures, though what they showed isn’t direct-feed footage so it’s still not that great, at the1:49:05 mark, at1:52:14and at1:54:23. You can also findhere a summary of theKisekipart of the event.
