Despite Ubisoft’sXDefiantbeing hyped as the next ‘Call of Dutykiller,’ it has struggled to stand against Activision’s FPS video game series. Complaints among players regarding the game’s poor netcode and imbalanced classes are widespread on the game’s subreddit.

Usually, buffs and nerfs are made to ensure the game stays fresh and doesn’t get stale. However, a recent patch that was supposed to nerf Dedsec, one of the classes in the game, might have buffed it instead.

The XDefiant Dedsec Faction Has an Incredibly Resourceful Array of Abilities and Traits

Dedsec is one of the many classes available inXDefiant; it comes fromUbisoft‘sWatchdogsIP. These members of the hacker group use technology to their advantage and sabotage foes.

They can turn off minimaps for enemies, prevent them from using their ultra ability, and turn the odds in their team’s favor. One of their abilities is the Spiderbot. It is inarguably one of the most annoying abilities alongside Cleaners’ firebomb.

The mechanical arachnid can trace enemies and block their line of sight by jumping on their headgear. Unless the player points to the ground and shoots it off (which takes 3-4 seconds) or a teammate shoots it off the player, one can be defenseless with a Spiderbot clinging to them.

In the recent update, the ability was nerfed to balance the game. TherecentXDefiantpatch increased the Spiderbot timer. However, it also made Dedsec’s passive trait more effective.

XDefiant Players Think That Despite Spider-Bot Nerf, Dedsec Reigns Supreme

Dedsec still needs some balancing, as per a player on the game’s subreddit. Their complaint was regarding how the faction’s newly buffed passive trait mixes very well with the Spider-Bot.

This is what they posted on the game’s subreddit:

To give readers a rundown, Dedsec’s passive ability, Fabricator, allows the hackers to procure a new device, such as a grenade, landmine, flashbang, etc, shortly after they use it.

“I might throw in the towel”: XDefiant Players Have Had Enough of Jump Spammers Breaking the Netcode and Removing All Enjoyment

For every other faction inXDefiant, deploying a device once means it will be off-limits until the player respawns or a new round begins. Laying down mines in an array or following the spiderbot’s trail and laying them on the strategic spot almost guarantees kills for players in the Dedsec faction.

Hence, players, especially those wielding a loadout suitable for camping, such as snipers of Marksman Rifles, benefit hugely from this. The next update for the gamehas to do something about this lingering issue. Otherwise, the game’s already depleting player numbers will only plummet further.
