Mistress of the Night is a midgame boss inWuchang: Fallen Feathersthat can be found at the end of Cloudspire City. Besides normal attacks, she also deals a couple of status effects, such as Corruption and Frostbite.

While Mistress of the Night doesn’t have the mostcomplex moveset compared to other bossesin the game, she does hit hard and can drain your health bar in an instant. This is why it’s important to be prepared.

Best Build for Mistress of the Night

Mistress of the Night loves toinflict Corruption on the player, so it’s essential to create a build that can help against that.

Also, since Mistress of the Night is prone to backstabs, you want to choose a weapon that is great at quickly staggering. I found thatthe Axe is the best for that purpose.

FromSoftware stories don’t usually have happy endings.

If you don’t have everything included in the build above, you may make adjustments as needed. However, it’s essential that you choose armor that hashigh resistance to Corruption, and it’s mandatory that you bringPurple Camellia.

Mistress of the Night Moveset

Mistress of the Night arguably hasthe most basic moveset out of all the bossesup to this point. However, they can be hard to read and can come quickly, making them tricky to dodge.

Check out the grid below to learn about Mistress of the Night’s moveset and tips on dodging each.

Mistress of the Night Attack Moveset Wuchang Fallen Feathers

Description

Vanishing Kick

Mistress of the Night will shroud herself in ice and vanish, reappearing near the player to execute a series of kicks. Continuously dodge to the side, with about a second between each kick.

Punishing Kick

Mistress of the Night will light her cigar and then deal a strong spinning kick. Dodge behind her and attempt to attack her back.

Corruption Orbs

The boss will raise her purple lantern and shoot off a string of Corruption orbs. Dodge twice toward the boss to avoid these. If you get hit, make sure to pop Purple Camellia to remove the Corruption buildup.

Corruption Blast

Sometimes, when you get too close to the boss, she will slam her lantern and create a Corruption blast. This does a ton of damage, so to avoid it, dodge backwards.

Ice Breathe

Mistress of the Night will breathe Ice towards the player. This is the perfect time to run behind the boss and deal damage to her back.

Series of Kicks

The boss will execute a string of kicks, back to back. There are four kicks in total here, so dodge four times.

Dragon Summon

Mistress of the Night will turn into a dragon and lunge at the player five times. There is about a two-second delay between each lunge, so time your dodges accordingly.

FromSoftware’s games have exceptional music, but which one stands out most?

How to Beat Mistress of the Night

As previously stated, it’s prettyeasy to get behind Mistress of the Night and attack her back. Remember, dealing high damage to an enemy’s back is aquick way to stagger them, leaving them open for anObliterate Strike.

So, our main goal here is to continuously aim to get behind the Mistress of the Night. This can be done bydodging diagonally toward her, through her Corruption orbs and kick attacks.

A collage of Soulsborne games: Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring

Remember, if you end up getting hit by her Corruption attacks, it’s important touse Purple Camellia to remove buildup.

Once you are near the boss, use your charge heavy attack to attack her backsideand knock her down for an Obliterate Strike. Repeat this as much as possible throughout the fight.

When Mistress of the Night goes into hersecond form and turns into a dragon, don’t worry about attacking at all. Instead, keep dodging the dragon(a total of 5 times)until she turns back into her human form.

If you manage to beat the Mistress of the Night fast enough, she won’t turn into the dragon again.

Remember touse Temperance before entering the bossarena and Divine Might before executing an Obliterate Strike. Both significantly increase your damage output.

A birdseye view of the brutality really pulls a new spin on things.

I recommendunlocking the Temper node on the Impetus Repositoryto increase the amount of Temperance Charges you have. This way, you have one for the start of the fight and again at some point during the fight.

Mistress of the Night Rewards

After beating Mistress of the Night, you’ll get a ton of Red Mercury and other goodies. Below are all the rewards for defeating this boss.

The standout here is Echo of Huang Yan, a powerful spell that is perfect for Feathering builds. Keep in mind that it requiresfour Skyborn Might slots, so you may have to unlock more on the skill tree.
