Gluttonous Monstrosity is an early-game boss inWuchang: Fallen Feathers, and can be found in Worship’s Rise. She is a ferocious, bird-like cannibal monster that spews blood and assaults you with relentless claw attacks.
While Gluttonous Monstrosity is a rather terrifying foe, she is surprisingly easy to defeat and has a simple moveset, mostly due to how early you can encounter her. Still, her grab attack can bump off a large amount of your health if you’re not careful.

8 Final Boss Fights That Are Actually Optional
The final boss in a game is usually the end point, right? Well, what if it didn’t have to be? Let’s check out.
Here’s a guide on how to beat Gluttonous Monstrosity and put an end to her misery.

Where To Find Gluttonous Monstrosity
GluttonousMonstrosity can be found in Worship’s Rise, munching away on a corpse atop a hill near Shu Sanctum.
There are two ways to get to Gluttonous Monstrosity from the Shu Sanctum.

From the shrine, head upstairs to the second floor of the building and cross the felled tree before making a left. There’s a hill that takes you up to a gate.
But if you haven’t explored much of Worship’s Rise and unlocked this route, you’ll need to take the long way.

Exit Shu Sanctum through the door closest to Tao Qing, the merchant.Head down the path and cross the invisible path (laid out by a glowing stone), climb up the hill, and you’ll eventually arrive at a town populated by enemies.
Fight through that down, and you’ll eventually find the gate that triggers the boss fight.

Preparations For Gluttonous Monstrosity
Because of how early you encounter Gluttonous Monstrosity, any early game build works just fine,as long as it is one that you are most comfortable with. After all, this is where you’re still getting used to the combat mechanics.
Perfect synergy is not required for this boss.Below is what I had on me when I defeated the Gluttonous Monstrosity:
Cloudfrost’s Edge, Darkfrost Edge
Embroidered Headband
Dazzling Fake Monk Robes
Embroidered Vambraces
Embroidered Boots
Jade Pendants
Gourd Pendant
Vorpal Blade
Echo of Dhutanga
Infernal Flames
Echo of Lu Bingzhang
Manna Vase
Temperance
Steamed Bunny Bun
Temperance Needle
Bone Needle - Flame
There isn’t a lot of preparation needed, as this is an early game optional boss. Still, there are some notable skills and spells you should keep an eye on.
Vorpal Blade is anexcellent spell to poke her from afar, sinceshe doesn’t have a lot of ranged attacks, and her blood attack has a surprisingly short range.
Darkfrost Edge’s skill “Evasive Maneuvers” is a reliable panic button.“Evasive Maneuvers” is essentially a weapon skill version of the midgame spell “Ethereal Form,” which costs only oneSkyborn Mightto cast and is perhapsone of the most powerful spells in the game.
As long as you have one stack of Skyborn Might, this ability can make you briefly invincible by automatically evading any attack for three seconds, all the while refunding a stack of Skyborn Might for every attack evaded in that duration.
There have been multiple instances where I have received a full stack of Skyborn Might after dodging a boss' combo.
Ideally, you’ll want to have a one-handed sword anda longsword, since both have skill tree perks that help you gain Skyborn Stacks as fast as possible. Both are invaluable weapons to have in the early game.
The longsword perk “Sword Saint” allows you to gain a stack of Skyborn Might at every second attack in your basic combo.
“Biding Time,” on the other hand, accumulates with every action you take, including casting spells and landing attacks, reaching a maximum of eight stacks of “Biding Time,” which significantly increases the frequency of gaining a stack of Skyborn Might.
At max stacks of “Biding Time,” you’ll always have at least one Skyborn Stack to cast Vorpal Blade.
With that said, it’sbest to spec whatever points you have left on these attributesin this particular order: Agility, Magic, Strength.
Gluttonous Monstrosity Moveset
First Phase
When the fight begins, the boss will most likely charge at you with a sweeping attack. Most of her melee attacks, which have quite the windup, are easy to read and will only take a few tries to get the rhythm right.
Sometimes, the boss will leap back and start spewing blood in a horizontal path.Because the stream is slow and has a short range, it’s easy to avoid it.
She can also spew blood after a melee combo, but it’s almost impossible to get caught in that attack.
One of the more difficult moves that might give you a hard time is her beak attack, which can come out of nowhere and deal a considerable amount of damage to you.
Staying far away from her might be a good idea in the moment, but she has a pounce that can cover quite a lot of ground at the end of that combo.
Your best bet is to dodge right behind her, though most of you experienced in Soulslikes can attest to that strategy.
While this boss has some pretty well-telegraphed moves, it’d be wise not to underestimate her.
Gluttonous Monstrosity has a grab attack that has a surprisingly short windup and has little to no visual or audio cues, taking away half your health bar if you’re not careful enough.
Second Phase
At half health, the Gluttonous Monstrosity will leap back, execute a slow and telegraphed melee combo before screaming and spewing blood from her mouth in a chaotic pattern.
After that, she’ll kneel on the ground, tired and vulnerable to attacks.Use this chance to deal as much damage as you can.
Her blood attacks will have a slightly longer range, and she’ll be more aggressive, but her attack patterns don’t change much after this.
How To Beat Gluttonous Monstrosity
The only reason this boss could be considered tough is if you’re not used to the combat ofWuchang: Fallen Feathersjust yet, and if you don’t have all the tools you need.
Before you trigger the boss phase, it’s always good practice totemper your weaponfirst, as the animation can take quite a while, and the boss will seldom give you any room to breathe.
As long as you have at least a stack of Skyborn Might, try to keep a distance and whittle her down with Vorpal Blade, especially when she’s shooting her streams of blood, as you have that range advantage.
Because of the boss’s basic melee attacks, you only need to circle her while she tries to turn around to attack you, just like any Soulslike boss.
With the perk “Biding Time,” you can very quickly regain Skyborn Might stacks, which makes this fight a lot simpler than you’d expect.
The boss also has a relatively long and harmless phase transition, which is the perfect opportunity to deal as much damage as you’re able to.
The rest of the fight shouldn’t be too hard. Make sure to never be in front of her in case she tries to go for that grab attack, and keep a good distance from her if you want to cast spells.
After putting an end to the Gluttonous Monstrosity, you’ll earn the following rewards:
