The Golden Globes have officially heralded the awards season in 2024. The red carpet in LA was glittering with all the A-list stars and nominees from the top films and television shows of the year. Among the various celebrities in attendance, funnyman Will Ferrell stole the show with fellow comedian Kristen Wiig as the duo presented the award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.

Before the awards got underway, Ferrell walked the red carpet for a few quick interviews and spoke about the favorites to win. The actor had warm words of praise for all the nominees, and was appreciative in particular about Greta Gerwig’sBarbiein which he played the CEO of Mattel. Responding to a possible Ken-inspiredBarbiesequel, Ferrell immediately put his hand up to share screen space with Gosling, if the film materialized.

Will Ferrellhas regaled audiences with his brilliant comic timing in many films likeAnchorman, Stepbrothers,and his most recent appearance as the CEO of Mattel in Greta Gerwig’sBarbie. Speaking on the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globes, the comedian praised Gerwig for her powerful feminist film that inspired millions of women across the world.
Responding to the news of a Ken-spinoff featuringRyan Goslingin the lead, theStranger than Fictionactor was immediately enthusiastic about the possibility and expressed his keen desire to be part of the film if it materialized. Speaking toE! News,Ferrell spoke of his constant 24/7 ‘kenergy’ and said,

“I would die to be in the Ken spin-off. I gotta hit Ryan up to make sure I’m in the sequel.”
Audiences and Will Ferrell fans for their part, would love to see the actor do what he does best on screen and share sparkling chemistry with Ryan Gosling.

Will Ferrell who played the role of Mattel’s CEO in the film, recognized the importance of what Gerwig was attempting very early on. The actor in an interview withE! Newsduring the 2024 Golden Globes, believed that Barbie deserved all the love and praise that it received.
“I love that people flocked to see it and they deserve every accolade. I’m so happy for Greta [Gerwig] and for Margot [Robbie] and Ryan [Gosling]. When I read that script, I was like ‘this is going to be huge.'”

Farrell went on to add that he was thrilled to see that his instincts about the film were absolutely right. He believed that he was fortunate to have been part of this history-making movie.
