In Hollywood’s ever-changing scene, only a few stars manage to maintain their box-office success. Nicolas Cage is one such success story, having made a comeback after a lackluster career in the 1990s. Setting a new feat on screen, the actor will put on the Spidey suit for the nextSpider-Man Noirseries, increasing audience excitement.

The Noir series would be Cage’s debut television show, presenting a slightly olderSpider-Manto the viewers. Furthermore, it is expected to explore several realities and interpretations of the character, potentially paving the way for future advancements in theSpider-Manuniverse.

Putting on the Spideysuitis what several actors in the world of Tinsel Town aspire to, but only a few lucky ones get the chance to do so. Now,Nicolas Cagehas also been added to the list of the lucky few actors, given that he’ll be leading the upcomingSpider-Man Noirseries under Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.

In the series set in the 1930s, Cage, an aged and down-on-his luck private investigator, is forced to come to terms with his past life as the city’s only superhero.

“I’ve waited so long for this”: Only Thing That Can Top Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Return is Nicolas Cage’s Return in $788 Million Franchise and Now That Seems More Possible Than Ever

Nicolas Cage shared his insights on the series during an interview withThe New Yorker. He added that while the television space never appealed to him, he appreciated that with a series he could express himself at his own pace. He further added:

I don’t like violence. I don’t want to play people who are hurting people. One of the things that I like about this potential show is that it’s fantasy.(Further)It’s not really people beating people up. Monsters are involved.

During the interview, the actor explained the most exciting aspect of the show is its fantastical element. He also hinted at what fans might expect with his“Monsters are involved”statement. Furthermore, this statement sparked a slew of conspiracy ideas on the internet. For example, a user on X revealed a supposed casting information he received with the following tweet:

Spider-Man Noir is gonna be a wild show based on casting info I’ve seen. Some wild, unexpected character will appear

As of yet, not a lot has been known about the release date of the eight-episode series. But the interview with the actor as well as the above-mentioned tweet have paved the way for a string of fan theories concerning thevillainsand the overall tone of the impending show.

Fans on X provide their own theories on what they expect from Nicolas Cage’sSpider-Man Noir

Only a few villains inSpider-Man’scinematic universe have caused Peter Parker as much agony and terror as the Green Goblin.

The fights between Green Goblin, aka Norman Virgil Osborne, andSpider-Manare among the best and most intense in comic book history. So, it’s understandable that fans would want the powerful yet intense Green Goblin to feature in the series as well. A fan expressed similar enthusiasm by tweeting that he wishes to see the Green Goblin and The Vulture, aka Adrian Toomes, in the upcoming series.

“You’ve got to sell tickets I guess”: Longlegs is Not the Scariest Movie of the Decade But Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe Have Given us a Horror Masterclass

I really hope that the monsters aka most likely Green Goblin and Vulture means that the show will be based on the original Spiderman Noir series and not the Spider-Verse version considering the Cage casting. While I do like the Verse Noir, I vastly prefer the comic version.https://t.co/zOKuXuXbCGpic.twitter.com/EoFrsomUqC

A fan idea also suggested that if the series incorporated more dark themes, they could construct a plotline in which Vulture consumes Uncle Ben (viaScreen Rant), like he did in the original comics. Fans have stated that, while they are excited to see what Nicolas Cage has to offer, they also want the comic book version to be seriously considered for the series.

Considering Spider-Man noir’s villains are a lot more body horror focused this makes total sense, I’m really hoping to see Canibal Vulture eat uncle Ben like he does in the comics, or Norman Osborn being an escapee of a 1920’s travelling freak showhttps://t.co/4fCBcDWhXdpic.twitter.com/ceGdriixEB

Hear me out……I think if you took Riddler from The Batman and changed him up a bit, he would work great as a Spider-Man Noir villain as well.pic.twitter.com/aXx5PpQVMi

Another fan suggested her own idea of bringing Riddler fromThe Batmanmovie. Further, she added that if the makers would make some adjustments here and there, they could fit the overall tone of the series.

I love how open ended this is. Just will feature monsters, no further explanation. I’m picturing Frankenstein just appears halfway through and it isn’t acknowledgedhttps://t.co/JwtHxNyRpD

Others were simply excited by how open-ended the“monsters are involved”phrase is. Furthermore, a fan suggested that the series include a storyline in which creatures come on screen without a clear explanation. She also mentioned one instance in which Frankenstein arrived unexpectedly in the series, creating a sense of interest and mystery among spectators.

While these are just fan hypotheses, only time will tell what other features the showrunners may incorporate into the season. Furthermore, whether any theories proposed by fans will be realistic or not.
