Indie gameUndertalecelebrated its 6th anniversary on September 15, and a new announcement from its main developer Toby Fox revealed when isDeltarune Chapter 2coming out.
Deltaruneis the spiritual successor ofUndertale, using the same presentation, the same old-school graphics, and tons of original game systems heavily inspired by classic JRPG. However, it’s set in a new world with new characters, and the world ofUndertaleis left untouched.Deltarune Chapter 1was released back in October 2018, and nowChapter 2finally has a release date.
Toby Fox held with Fangamer on September 15 a special live stream for the 6th anniversary ofUndertale. Where the Fangamer team playedDeltarune Chapter 1with live commentary from the developer. The release date forDeltarune Chapter 2was revealed at the end of the stream with some gameplay.

According to the game’s official page, you may playChapter 2even if you haven’t clearedDeltarune Chapter 1. However, if you did playChapter 1until the ending and saved after the credits, you can transfer the save toChapter 2.
The page also has several messages from Toby Fox. In particular, the developer confirmed thatDeltarune Chapter 2will not be the ending ofDeltarune. Meaning that at least one moreChapterwill be released at some point.
Deltarune Chapter 1was first released without prior warning in October 2018. Since then, Toby Fox has been regularly sharing updates forChapter 2. Toby Foxjokingly mentionedin 2020 for the 5th anniversary ofUndertalethat it’d be best to forget aboutDeltaruneuntil it releases.
Note that Toby Fox isn’t the sole developer ofDeltarune, and the updates shared throughTwitteralso included pixel art from designer and developer Tuyoki.
