Black Myth: Wukongis now available for PlayStation 5 and PC players; however, the game is missing on a notable competitor platform. The representatives of Microsoft reiterate that the game will eventually launch on the current generation consoles and deny that the technological limitations of the hardware are delaying the launch, but something else entirely and outside of their purview. Many have suspected Game Science may have signed a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment for timed exclusivity which is what Microsoft insinuates.
The console wars have reached new heights if what Microsoft claims is true. Although, the gaming company clarified they do not want to comment on the affairs of Game Science outside of their partnership; however, they firmly believe that the current generation of Xbox consoles is more than capable of running the game without issue.

The PlayStation 5 player base immediately dived in to check what the developers of Game Science have been working on in the past few years. Not many have complained about the issue and could be a rare case for other players.
Game Science confirmed that the game will be a multiplatform title and run on modest gaming PCs without hassle, the PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. However, the two platforms had the same release date leaving Microsoft on the short end of the stick again. The gaming community assumed the developers encountered several optimization issues but a spokesperson came forward and revealed that was not the case of the delay.

Despite the rough launch on the PlayStation platform, the game received generally positive reviews andshattered records on the PC platformbased on the latest Steam charts. Before the current generation began, Microsoft boasted that the Xbox Series X would be the most powerful home console to date that trumps the performance of direct rivals which should end the debate about the hardware being the root of the delay.

Game Science is an independent studio with no allegiances with any major gaming platform; however, Microsoft seems to suggest the delay was caused by a timed exclusivity deal which is a serious and heavy-duty conjecture. Perhaps the developers have considered the technological gaps between each platform and thought it would be best to hold onto the Xbox version and work around the problems. Sony could have pulled some strings and indefinitely blocked the rival port to gain full control of the game’s rising popularity in the console space without much competition apart from the PC side.
Game Science has yet to comment on the subject matter of making a deal. Perhaps more information will surface in the coming days.
