Insider SaysCall of Duty: Warzone MobileComing In 2022
UPDATE:Playtest Cloud has since reached out toDualShockersto clarify that this is a “false alarm”, you can find their full statement below.
“This was a false alarm, the list of games in our signup form has no connection to any games tested on PlaytestCloud. Additionally, as this game hasnât been confirmed to exist yet, weâve removed it from the database. While weâre also eagerly awaiting future Call of Duty games, we unfortunately donât have any information about upcoming titles.”
ORIGINAL STORY:According to industry insiderTom Henderson,Call of Duty: Warzone Mobileis scoped for a 2022 release date. The news comes after a playtest version was uploaded to thePlaytest Cloud database, which was first spotted byJust4Leaks.
Unfortunately, that’s about all of the details that have emerged onCall of Duty: Warzone Mobile. A more specific release date wasn’t given by Henderson, but it’s likely to still be some time away.
It’s possible that it’s scheduled to release alongsideCall of Duty2022, which is rumoured to be a sequel to 2019’sModern Warfare. But at the same time, would Activision really want a huge mobile release to clash with their yearlyCall of Dutylaunch?
There has also been speculation that Activision is discussing the possibility ofditching the annual release schedule forCall of Duty. Although this seems unlikely given that a newCall of Dutytitle has been released every year sinceCall of Duty 2in 2005.
Of course, take all this information with a grain of salt, as plans change internally before release all the time. But let us know in the comments, would you be interested in seeing a mobile version ofWarzone?
