Warhammer 40K: Darktideoffers a lot of interesting customization options, including a few that are easy to miss if you don’t take the time to delve deep into the game’s various menus. Portrait frames, insignias, and, to some extent, even weapon skins are all good examples. Meanwhile, trinkets are even easier to miss if you don’t know where to look.

Trinkets, along with other types of jewelry, have undergone big changes sinceVermintide 2where they provided stats and bonuses. Now,Curios fulfill that role. In Warhammer 40K: Darktide, trinkets are simply cosmetic items you can equip to weapons to make them look a bit more interesting.
How To Unlock Trinkets
Trinkets can be unlocked by completing Penances, Darktide’s equivalent to achievements. A lot of Penances can be completed by simply playing the game, but some require you to perform certain activities or objectives in a very specific way.

Most of the Penances that unlock trinkets aren’t necessarily difficult, however, they are very time-consuming. Down below, you can find a list of all the trinkets currently found in Darktide along with the Penances you’ll need to complete to unlock them.
Rosette Inquisitorius
Awarded for completingCircle of Trust(6). Simply complete missions until you max out a character. You’ll receive this trinket shortly afterward.
Aquila’s Head
Awarded for completingCull the Traitors. This is a meta-achievement that requires you to complete six other Penances revolving around killing specific types of enemies a certain number of times. Scab Picker (5) is the only Penance you’ll end up struggling with, but that’s only because it takes an ungodly amount of time to complete.
Omnissiah’s Eye
Awarded for completingPurge the Heretics. This is another meta-achievement consisting of five Penances, and it works similarly to the previous one. Purge the Heretics also has a very time-consuming Penance called Dreg Hunter (5), which requires killing thousands upon thousands of Dregs.
Ossuary Charm
Awarded for completingCleanse the Taint. This is the third and final meta-achievement revolving around killing massive numbers of Heretics. The most time-consuming Penance here is Purgator (5), although you should be able to complete it faster than the previously mentioned ones. On the other hand, there’s a somewhat difficult Penance called Bully the Bully that requires you to kill 10 Reapers in melee. It’s best to play anOgrynor aZealotwhen you’re going after that one.
Auric Charm
Awarded for completingMission Improbable. This is easily the most time-consuming Trinket to get in Darktide. Mission Improbable requires you to unlock seven other Penances, each of which involves completing 100 missions of a certain type. All in all, you’ll need tosuccessfullycomplete 700 missions to get your hands on this one. Did we mention that unlocking trinkets is time-consuming?
Krillhawk Claw
Awarded for completingAttack, Attack, Attack! This one has six other Penances tied to it, some of which are a bit ridiculous while others are once again time-consuming. Frenzied Killer might be the hardest of the bunch as it requires you to kill 20 consecutive enemies with headshots. There’s also Purge the Heretic (2), a Penance that requires you to kill no less than 40,000 enemies. AnyWarhammer 40Kfan will appreciate the reference, but not the amount of time needed to complete this.
Winged Duty
Awarded for completingCase for the Defence. To unlock this one, you’ll need to complete seven other Penances, some of which can be pretty brutal. Untouchable, which requires you to complete a mission without taking any health damage, is pretty much impossible if you’re playing on anything higher than the easiest difficulty. Meanwhile, The Emperor Protects (2) makes it almost mandatory to play an Ogryn with a shield.
Auric Star
Awarded forpre-ordering Warhammer 40K: Darktide. Not a lot to say about this one. The trinket was one of the bonuses players got for pre-ordering the game and is no longer obtainable.
How To Equip Trinkets
To equip your hard-earned trinkets you’ll first need to open the loadout menu and select a weapon. Next, click on the Appearance option to open up a new menu. This is the same menu you’re able to use to equip weapon skins. You’ll notice that there are two icons above the window on the left-hand side. Click on the icon on the right to open the Trinkets interface. Now simply select one of your Trinkets and then click ‘Confirm’ to equip it to your chosen weapon.
It’s worth mentioning that trinkets can be equipped on any sort of weapon, from the smallest knife to the biggest machine gun. On particularly large weapons, like the ones wielded by Ogryns, Trinkets are barely visible. Luckily, trinkets are account-wide so even if you can’t spot them on some of the massiveunique weapons available exclusively to Ogryns, they’ll still look nice attached to weapons used by your other classes.
