Valorantis a fantastic game, but it is not without its shortcomings. Riot Games’ 5v5 PvP first person shooter has a competitive edge to it, which pushes players to hone and further refine their skills in combat – which might make one want to review their gameplay footage at times.

A ‘replay system’ has been curiously absent fromValorant, with the devs working on multiple iterations to enable it in-game. However, a recent datamine shows evidence that a replay system might soon make its way to the game.
A recent leak hints at Replay mode being added to Valorant soon
A post from the X account ‘VALORANT Leaks & News’ has recently emerged online, detailing a curious set of iconsadded to the recent update. In particular, patch 10.02 brought with it System Replay specific icons which were found to be datamined by this particular account.

The icons revealed are as follows:
The icons descriptions are self-explanatory, and as such can be used for fine-tuned control of captured footage. In particular, the free camera and playhead indicators should be of utmost importance – especially useful for reviewing footage.
The inclusion of these icons in the recent datamine would suggest that a replay system might finally see the light of day, although a release date has yet to be set in stone. The system could appear in the next patch, or a few months down the line – it is up to Riot Games to implement it, and they are sure to refine the system further before releasing it to the public.

Valorant Has Enough Material to Have a Campaign but It Shouldn’t Go Down That Route
Riot Games is yet to comment on the matter, but we should expect an official announcement regarding the same soon. After all, this has been a topic of contention for quite some time, with the devs teasing it for years.
The exact workings of this replay function still remain a mystery as well, with the ability to ‘save’ multiple replays being quite an important question that lingers around.

Fans have been clamoring for a replay button since ages
The replay button has beena highly requested feature from the player base, thanks to its strategic nature. After all, reviewing footage can help one learn better from their mistakes and be a better player in the long run.
It also could potentially help pinpoint any activity of foul play in a match, which is why the Free Cam feature might have been introduced.

The replay feature has been in development for a long time, and this extended delay ispartly due to the game’s antiquated design– which did not incorporate such a feature in the first place. The game was not designed to have replays, and as such the undertaking was a gargantuan task.
Riot probably wants to further fine tune the system, adding in quality of life improvements and bug fixes before releasing it to the public.
