M. Night Shyamalan is a visionary filmmaker, who has amazed audiences with his idea in films and television alike. FromThe Sixth Senseto theUnbreakabletrilogy, his movies have managed to go deep into the psyche of his audience with immaculate storytelling and intricate plot details. Currently, the director is gearing up for his upcoming venture,Trap, starring Josh Hartnett.

Josh Hartnett wasn’t in the movie scene for some time, before returning with a bang in Christopher Nolan’sOppenheimer. Now, he is all set to play a doting father with dad jokes in the upcoming Shyamalan feature. But with a killing twist!
Could Trap Be a Sequel toThe Sixth Sense?
M. Night Shyamalan‘s upcoming movieTrapsees Josh Hartnett and Ariel Donoghue, who plays his daughter, going to a concert of Pop star Lady Raven, played by R&B singer Saleka, who is actually Shyamalan’s real life daughter. But there is a twist, the concert is a trap to catch a serial killer known as The Butcher. And the final twist in the trailer?Josh Hartnetthimself is the serial killer, at least that’s what it look like.
But here a theory! What if this movie is a sequel to one of Shyamalan’s most acclaimed movies –The Sixth Sense? After all, the biggest question is, how did the police and everyone working behind the scene even knowThe Butcherwould be at the concert to set a trap for him? Could it be that they have some help? Someone with a sixth sense, who can talk to ghosts?

Trap Trailer: M. Night Shyamalan Fans May Have Already Deduced the ‘Real Twist’ – Josh Hartnett isn’t The Butcher
The theory suggests that Haley Joel Osment’s Cole Sear from the 1999 movie, now a grown adult, is helping the law enforcement with his special ability. He could be talking to the previous victims of The Butcher, and they could be the “informants” who tipped off the police that The Butcher would be at the concert.
Now that would surely be something! And we wouldn’t put it past Shyamalan to think of such a twist, not after how he intricately connected the movies in theUnbreakabletrilogy.

The Sixth SenseWas The First Movie in TheUnbreakableUniverse
Yes, we know it is a little difficult to compute, but given theUnbreakabletrilogy deals with individuals with superpowers, what is Cole was the first in line, with his sixth sense being his superpower? Though there are some discrepancies, what withUnbreakabletrilogy’s David Dunn andThe Sixth Sense‘s Malcolm Crowe were played by the same guy,Bruce Willis.
But if we keep that aside, or Shyamalan can manage to bring in another twist to solve this issue, the 1999 movie could very well be the first movie inM. Night Shyamalan‘sUnbreakableuniverse, which was further propelled byUnbreakable,Split, andGlass, and now will see another continuation withTrap.

Trap Theory Reveals it’s the 4th Movie in M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable Universe That Started With Bruce Willis
As the trailer of the upcoming movie said, “Get Ready for a new experience… in the world of M. Night Shyamalan,” and if you ask us, this new experience could very well be part of a very familiar world, set by the visionary director.
Trap, in theatres on August 9.
