In a surprising announcement to celebrate the first anniversary ofTotal War: Warhammer 3, Creative Assembly revealed that owners of Warhammer 3 will now receive free access to Immortal Empires, no matter whether they already own previous entries of the franchise or not. In the past, players were required to own all three Total War: Warhammer games to gain access to Immortal Empires.If you update Total War: Warhammer 3 to the latest version, you will receive free access to Immortal Empires. Immortal Empies is now out of beta, and you can experience the full version with Patch 2.4.

For those unfamiliar, Immortal Empires is a game mode that has been in development for over a year, which combines all the maps, factions, and campaigns from the Total War: Warhammer trilogy into one giant sandbox area, where players get to experience the ultimate Warhammer universe with the latest gameplay mechanics that were added with the arrival of Warhammer 3.

Recently, Rich Aldridge, game director of Warhammer 3,revealed that the team plans to release a new content expansionin April 2023. While the details of the DLC are yet to be shared, the developer teased it is going to be worth the long anticipation. Other than that, players can expect two more content drops in summer and winter. The development of Immortal Empires has been the main focus of Creative Assembly in the past year, but now the team will shift its focus to delivering new content.

Warhammer 3 received two expansions as well as an effects pack in its first year of release. Although the gap between the latest expansion and the next one in April 2023 has been frustrating for the community so far, the game director said earlier that the next content will be “a heck of an experience”.

Total War: Warhammer 3 was directly launched on PC Game Pass in 2022, and it is still available through the subscription service. So, Immortal Empires is now a free update for Game Pass players of Warhammer 3 as well. In addition to that, PC Game Pass also hostsTotal War: Three Kingdoms.
