Venom is widely recognized as one of Spider-Man’s most formidable enemies, appearing in various forms across comics, video games, and other media. While it took a considerable amount of time for Venom to receive a live-action portrayal, the character was featured in 2007’sSpider-Man 3. However, many fans have made it clear they actually prefer Tom Hardy’s portrayal of the symbiote in Sony’s Venom saga. That said, Hardy’s Venom isn’t the most anticipated hero of 2024, as two major Marvel stars have beaten him.
2024 is undoubtedly one of the biggest years for Superhero movies since it will feature some heavy hitters on the field. This includes Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds’ MCU debut inDeadpool 3, which is definitely going to break records.

Despite initial skepticism from fans about his portrayal in Sony’sVenomfilms, those doubts were squashed once audiences witnessed his performance in the movies.
Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Eddie Brock/Venom breathed new life into the character, redeeming it from its previous maligned depiction in 2007’sSpider-Man 3. Fans and critics universally praised Hardy, considering him the highlight of both films. InVenom: Let There Be Carnage, Hardy’s performance further showed off his insane range as the iconic character. His return as Venom is obviously very hyped in the upcoming third film of the franchise, scheduled for release this year.

According toFandango’ssurvey of 8,000 ticket buyers,Deadpool 3, Beetlejuice 2, and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empiretop the list of most-anticipated wide-release movies in 2024. The survey also revealed that 81% of respondents are more excited about films in 2024 compared to their anticipation heading into 2023, with 88% expressing their intention to attend multiple films.
