There isn’t much known about the project yet, and it’s likely in the very early stages of development. But what we do know so far is that fans of Sony’s console will see some of their favorite titles brought to life in a new way on Prime Video.

Tim Miller’s Secret Level Anthology Series to Explore Video Game Worlds

It’s not the first time a director has decided to mash together various video games to tell a story.Wreck-It Ralph, which came out in 2012, implemented a similar concept using titles from various classic gaming systems such asPac-Man,Battlezone,Asteroids, and many more. Tim Miller is looking at more modern titles, including some fromPlayStation, that could excite some fans.

THAT SOUNDS AWESOME

Spelunkyis one of the titles we know will feature, in some way, in the series titled Secret Level. The rogue-like 2D platformer came to consoles in 2012 and was a hit among fans of the genre. What’s exciting is that Miller has included some PlayStation titles in the mix. Now, we don’t know which titles will be used for the series, and maybe Miller can take someinspiration from the new games added to the PS Plus this month. But people are excited to hear this news, and some may be speculating as to which franchise from Sony we’ll see adapted.

We can no doubt expect many to hope beloved franchises such asUncharted,inFAMOUS, andBloodbornesomehow make the cut. Given Miller’s work on the Netflix anthology series, using FromSoftware’s gothic Lovecraftian experience would bring many eyes to the show.

PlayStation Hardware Sales Continue to Skyrocket

It seems the company is on a tear on multiple fronts. Along with getting some of its titles adapted for Miller’s series, the console manufacturer has seen a surge in sales of its secondary hardware. The PlayStation Portal, despite being mocked and derided when revealed, has become the UK’s number one gaming accessory by revenue this year.

The handheld was criticized for being a remote-play-only device, with many wishing it would have been a successor to the PSP line-up. However, the recent update, which allows the handheld to function better when using public Wi-Fi, has expanded its use cases and could be why more people are picking it up.

Gaming companies are now looking at acquiring a larger audience through various means and getting onto streaming platforms, as playable titles or watchable series are all the rage. We can expect even more companies to attempt this transition, though how many will be successful is a question to consider.
