Chance Perdomo, star ofGen VandChilling Adventures of Sabrina, passed away in a motorcycle accident in Upstate New York at the age of 27. The actor was on his way to Toronto to attend the table read of the second season ofGen V, which was scheduled to begin filming on April 8. Perdomo played the role of Andre Anderson in the film. The news came as a shock to the cast and crew ofGen Von Saturday morning.

The authorities have confirmed that no other individuals were involved in the tragic crash that killed the actor. Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television released a joint statement, mourning the loss of a loving member of theirGen Vfamily.

TheGen Vproducers shared that they couldn’t wrap their heads around the loss of the charming and smiling actor. They described the actor as an enthusiastic force of nature and an incredibly talented performer. They further added that talking about Perdomo in the past tense didn’t make any sense. Their joint statement read (via Deadline):
“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”
BesidesGen V, the actor played the role of Ambrose Spellman in Netflix’sChilling Adventures of Sabrinaand Landon Gibson in theAfterfilm series. He also earned a BAFTA nomination for his leading role as Jerome Rogers in the TV film,Killed by My Debt. He made his acting debut in 2017, with a role in the CBBC series,Hetty Feather.

Chance Perdomo’s publicist released in a statement to Variety that the actor passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident. The statement also conveyed a heartfelt tribute from the actor’s friends and family, who remembered his passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life. It also carried a request from the family to allow them to mourn in privacy. The statement read (via Variety):
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing as a result of a motorcycle accident. Authorities have advised that no other individuals were involved. His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”
Amazon MGM Studios also released a joint statement with Sony Pictures Television, extending their heartfelt thoughts and support to Perdomo’s family (via Deadline).Chilling Adventures of Sabrinashowrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared on hisInstagramthat Perdomo was“one of the most talented young actors”he had ever worked with. He described the actor’s death as“heartbreaking and staggering”.
