However, whileWukongcertainly deserved all the overwhelmingly positive reviews, one player said that this is like comparing a Mercedes to a Prius for many reasons.

Wow… I respect your opinion, but that’s like comparing a Mercedes to a Prius. The combat is very stilted and basic, and it’s like they couldn’t decide if they wanted this to be a Souls-like or Bayonetta, so it falls into an awkward gray area that doesn’t excel as either.

Many fans have joined in the debate, mainly negative comments saying that Wukong will never reach the enduring legacy theOcarina of Timeenjoys and that this action RPG is a one-week wonder.

Ehh… It’s good but I doubt it’ll be that enduring. Just a solid game that has it’s week and then it’ll peter off.

Nevertheless,Wukongis still a fantastic action RPG experience and for a debut triple-A game from an indie studio, to have it compared with such giants is undeniably a massive success.

The game takes inspiration from several titles in the genre, includingSekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and many more already listed, and combines it into a spectacle of boss fights, rewarding exploration, and rich lore waiting to be discovered.
