Helldivers 2is a successful game; Arrowhead Game Studios seems to have really hit the bullseye with this game in every way. It looks excellent, and it is a brilliant game when played. What’s even better is the fact that it supports a co-op mode, so players can bring about their friends for some Automaton-destroying fun.

Helldivers 2’s opening intro seems to be enough to get players excited about the game.

This game launched for PlayStation 5 and PC on February 8, and within a month of its launch, has garnered a very high player count on Steam. While it might be lower than what it was when it launched, it’s still pretty impressive for a new title. And now, fans have high hopes that this player count will increase as the game makes its way to Xbox consoles.

Fans are sure Helldivers 2 is coming to Xbox

Phil Spencer controls most of what goes on with Xbox, the games it gets, and the platforms those games are ported to. He has been handling that duty pretty effectively, too. As part of his attempt to make Xbox a larger player in the industry, he spearheaded the acquisition of the publishing giant Activision.

Helldivers 2 Requires a Frankly Absurd Amount of Medals to Purchase Every Reward

And once that was done, Microsoft decided they would rather go multiplatform with some of their games. This announcement, too, did not take much time to be made. It was revealed that games likeGrounded, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, andPentiment. Then some of these games were announced for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. And that’s how Microsoft’s journey into being a third-party publisher started.

Sony is another story; they have not made any commitment as of yet. Yes, they decided to bring a bunch of their games to PC. That is just part of their strategy of making money from their age-old games that have already made their mark on their parent platform, the PlayStation.

But fans do not like this; they want this game to be playable everywhere. This is the emotion pretty much every Xbox owner shares. They even started a petition to try and bringHelldivers 2to Xbox consoles. But that did not seem to make a difference, and there’s a big reason behind that.

Arrowhead Game Studios might have developedHelldivers 2, but Sony is the publisher. They decide what platform this game should launch on, and it looks like they have already made their decision onHelldivers 2.

It makes sense, too, if they decide to never release their game on an Xbox console. Given the fact that Sony had been really digging pretty much everywhere for a successful live service game of their own. Now that they have it, why would they go ahead and make it multiplatform?

Then again, things have a way of changing in the world. No one ever thought they would playGod of Waron PC without an emulator, and no one ever thought Microsoft would ownCall of Dutysomeday. But these things have happened. Maybe someday fans will seeHelldivers 2on Xbox too.

Helldivers 2 CEO is not part of this conflict, though

One silver lining in all this conflict is the fact that the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios has suggested that he does not like people comparing his game withHalo. Recently, a fan posted a tweet suggestingHelldivers 2was better thanHalo, andJohan Pilestedt, the CEO, said,“Why compare? Just let gamers love and enjoy both, either or neither. We need more compassion and union in the world, and less rivalry”.

Sorry Xbox Citizens, No Helldivers 2 For You – PlayStation Have Reportedly Bought Arrowhead Studios

As if he does not care about being part of a petty console war that keeps on going on and on. Maybe he would push for an Xbox release of this game. After all, for a live service game, more is always better.
