The show is known for its brilliant social commentary, layered characters, the opulence of the featured resort, and most importantly, the twists and turns.

Season 3 welcomes a brand-new cast with some returning faces, and each character is set to bring intrigue and drama to the table. So, before you dive in, here’s a quick guide to who they are and how they fit into the narrative.
Jason Issacs as Timothy Ratliff
We all knowJason Isaacsfrom theHarry Potterfranchise where he played the cunning Lucius Malfoy, and his other notable role was Captain Gabriel Lorca inStar Trek: Discovery. The actor is brilliant at bringing morally ambiguous characters to life, and inThe White Lotus,we’ll see him as Timothy Ratliff, a powerful businessman who might be on the brink of financial ruin (viaWarner Bros. Discovery).
Parker Posey as Victoria Ratliff
Parker Posey is a known indie film iconand has acted in over 100 projects, which includeDazed and Confused, andKicking and Screamingamong several other movies and TV shows. She seems to be the perfect fit for the elusive role of Victoria, who is vacationing on the resort with her husband and three children, whom she refers to as her“babies,”in thetrailer.
It’s likely that she has a bigger part to play in the series because an actress of her caliber, can’t just be cast as a character with no substance. But we can establish one thing from the trailer, she is somewhat privileged and used to this lifestyle, due to her remark of usually visiting the Caribbean.

Patrick Schwarzenegger as Saxon Ratliff
Patrick Schwarzeneggerwas previously seen inGev VandThe Staircase, and he’s quite famous among the young audience. He stars as the eldest son of Timothy and Victoria, works in his father’s company, and is described as being conscious about his health.

In aninterviewwith Today, the actor said,“Saxon is a very fit guy and cares a lot about what he puts in his body and about all his health and wellness and working out and stuff.”Moreover, he’s trying to move away from his dad’s shadow and create his own identity.
Sarah Catherine Hook as Piper Ratliff
Sarah Catherine Hook is playing Piper, another one of the Ratliff siblings. The actress has worked on interesting projects likeNOS4A2, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, andFirst Kill. Piper is the middle child and is in the last year of college, where she’s majoring in religious studies. Perhaps through her character, the show will explore the Middle Child Syndrome which suggests how birth order makes the parents treat their middle child differently than other siblings.
Sam Nivola as Loclan Ratliff
Sam Nivola essays the character of Loclan, who is the youngest in the Ratliff family, and a high school senior. We’ve seen the actor before inWhite Noise, Maestro, andThe Perfect Couple, and he’s also directed a few projects on TV. InThe White Lotus, he seems to have an affinity toward asking philosophical questions, suggesting that despite being young, he might be the wise and sensible one in the show.
Walton Goggins as Rick Hatchett
Walton Goggins is a seasoned actor who has appeared in projects likeJustifiedandThe Shield. In the show, he plays Rick Hatchet, a rugged man who always seems to be angry or frustrated about something. In the trailer, we see him scroll through his phone and pause at an image of a gray-haired couple.
Aimee Lou Wood as Chelsea
Aimee Lou’s breakout role was inSex Education, and this time around, the actress is embodying the role of Chelsea inThe White Lotus, where she is a free-spirited woman. As mentioned earlier, she is accompanying Rick, her boyfriend, and seems to be unaccustomed to such opulence. She is in awe of the high-end lifestyle of the resort and brings a youthful exuberance that contrasts with her boyfriend’s demeanor.
Leslie Bibb as Kate
Leslie Bibb has acted in projects like Palm Royale and Jupiter’s Legacy. This time around, we will see her take on the role of Kate, who is one of the three longtime friends, reunited on a girl’s trip. However, there seems to be some tension between the three, with years apart, they’ve built a few conflicts and rivalries amongst each other.
Carrie Coon as Laurie
Carrie Coon has previously been a part ofThe Gilded AgeandThe Leftovers, where she delivered compelling performances. InThe White Lotus, she plays Laurie, another one in the trio of friends who are on a tumultuous reunion in the hotel. The trailer features her in a moment of conflict where she is candidly expressing her feelings, calling her friends“fake,” “vain,”and“selfish.”So we will likely get to see the complexities of friendship and how they turn out to be after years of being apart.
Michelle Monaghan as Jaclyn
Michelle Monaghan has had an impressive career, as she has starred in blockbusters likeMission Impossible: Falloutand critically acclaimed shows such asTrue Detective. Her character, Jaclyn is also a part of the controversial girls’ friend group, and in the trailer, she exclaims,“We’re not dead yet!”Jaclyn seems to be adventurous and ready to live the nostalgia, as she tries to grapple with the evolving dynamics of her long-term friendships.
Natasha Rothwell as Belinda
Natasha Rothwell has reprised her role as Belinda, the spa manager from thefirst season that was set in Hawaii. Her character is now in Thailand, and a part of an exchange program where she learns about the wellness services of a new resort.
