Akira Toriyama has created Super Saiyan versions in every color of the rainbow and more. So, of course, there are transformations serving all kinds of purposes, be it speed, strength, or fusion inDragon Ball.

With so many Super Saiyan versions available, it is only natural that some of them would follow trends set by other superheroes. This time, the comparison is between Super Saiyan Rage and Marvel’s Hulk.
Similarities Between Super Saiyan Rage inDragon Balland Hulk
Super Saiyan Rage, like its name, was achieved when Future Trunks felt unbelievable anger during the Future Trunks Saga inDragon Ball.Marvel’s Hulkis also famous for being triggered by rage. While Bruce Banner learned to control the transformation over the years, the main ingredient to Hulk is still anger. Thus, the famous quote:
“I’m always angry.”

The first time Future Trunks achieved this stage was when he was told that his incompetence was the reason behind the suffering in his timeline. He was pushed beyond his limit and was blind with rage like never before. That is when he transformed intoSuper SaiyanRage.

To achieve this transformation, he first becomes Super Saiyan 2 and then proceeds to the Rage form, which gives him a blue aura wrapped in golden blazes. In this form, he could outmatch Future Zamasu as well as face off with Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black. Later on, he could face both at the same time due to the power increase allowed by Super Saiyan Rage.
Similarly, the angrierHulkgets, the stronger he becomes. He waslaunched into spacein a pressurized vessel in the original comics. But once the vessel broke, he became angrier and even stronger and was able to adapt to space.

Super Saiyan Rage also has the additional advantage of powering up through the energy sent by humans across the Earth. By gathering the ki of humans, he was able to receive a massive power boost and destroy Fused Zamasu.
Super Saiyan Rage Vs. Furious Vegeta
Another Super Saiyan form closely resembles Future Trunks’ Super Saiyan Rage and it is Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 2 (Enraged). Who else could pull off rage better than the short king himself? During this stage, Vegeta is also called Furious Vegeta.
In the anime, Super Saiyan 2 (Enraged) debuted during Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods when Beerus severely outmatched Vegeta. During their battle, Beerus slapped Bulma for interfering between them, thus sending Vegeta into a frenzy.

HisSuper Saiyan 2form became drastically empowered by anger. Roshi even declared that Vegeta’s rage allowed him to momentarilysurpass Goku in terms of strength.
In the Dragon Ball manga, Furious Vegeta outmatched Super Saiyan Goku Black, whose base form outclassed the Super Saiyan 2 Form of Future Trunks. The difference between the two forms is that Future Trunks can utilize the Powerhouse State in his Super Saiyan Rage form while Vegeta can’t.
