Speaking of her brief stay in the sitcom as Kandi, who became a love interest to Alan, Bowlby expressed that the character clicked with her instantly. Despite being nervous initially, things quickly turned around as seasons 3 and 4 saw theTwo and a Half Mencastat the peak of their game, and the chemistry between them off-camera was also impeccable (viaCream Magazine).
When we chatted [off-camera], he was actually laidback with a very dry, raw sense of humour. He and Jon Cryer were very charismatic with each other. The show was at its peak when I entered the picture; a well-oiled machine with everyone getting along.
Unfortunately, after her divorce from Alan, Bowlby’s tenure as a series regular concluded. Even though her character was never meant to be a mainstay, she certainly succeeded in leaving a lasting impact on fans, and Kandi was later brought back in seasons 10 and 12 as a guest character.

It was very exciting, let me tell ya. I was very nervous but, luckily, when you’re just starting out, and if you have a good team – which I did, you go on all sorts of auditions and you just hope you’re booked for a role. It was like a numbers game but with Kandi, the character really worked for me.
