The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerseason 2, episode 8, marks the final chapter point of a spectacular three-episode run known as the Siege of Eregion. This Prime Video finale is a monumental achievement in fantasy series television. After you watch it, you’ll surely agree.
To Sauron’s delight, he manages to forge the nine rings. This is after escaping Lord Celebrimbor’s (Charles Edwards) ambush and his men with a flick of the wrist. Not to mention, many faiths, including Elrond, Galadriel, and Arondi, lay in the hands of Adar.

Prime Video’sThe Lord of the Rings: The Rings of PowerSeason 2 Episode 8: How Does King Durin III Die?
In what may be the most visually stunning scene in the entire series—certainly wholly cinematic—King Durin IV is killed by the Balrog. King Durin III (a fantastic Peter Mullan) confronts the ancient demonic being in a breathtaking sequence. The Dwarves later confirm that Elrond and the King have died.
With his son, Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur), and Princess Disa (Sophia Nomvete) watching and begging him to return to safety, the King ignores them. He delivers a sharp rebuke to the beast, then charges forward, leaping into the air with his axe to attack.

This is an emotional moment for Prince Durin and a turning point in the third season.
How Does Adar Die?
An inner Orc resistance kills Adar. Nnatar/Sauron arranged this. The group murders the Orc leader in almost the same fashion as Sauron(Charlie Vickers) was attacked in the opening episode. Yes,The Rings of Powerhas begun to flip the script onThe Lord of the Ringssource material this season.
Instead of solidifying our hatred of the creatures, they are being humanized. For instance, the one who kills Adar is theOrc, who has been questioning Adar’s decisions. We learned in episode six that he now has a baby Orc and a family. Many have questioned the creators’ decision.

The winners have always written history. The Lord of the Ringswas written during a period when colonialism was, you know, still a thing. Are the Orcs uneducated animals, or just deemed as different? This is a provocative concept, questioning history.
What Does Queen Miriel Give Elendil?
Queen Miriel (The Accountant’sCynthia Addai-Robinson) gives Captain Elendil (Lloyd Owen) the Narsil. This is after the greedy statesman Ar-Pharazôn (Trystan Gravelle) takes over the island kingdom of Númenor. Elendil is about to sneak Miriel out, but she refuses.
Narsil is known for its strength of the Men of the West. It is known for its ability to withstand the darkest of evil, including Sauron. It breaks in The Lord of the Rings lore at the Battle of Dagorlad. Isildur uses the broken hilt to cut the One Ring from Sauron’s hand.

Elendil now leaves with a few

How Does Annatar/Sauron Defeat Galadriel?
Sauron stabs Galadriel with the crown. Keep in mind, she’s Elvish and immortal but can die physically.Sauroncould defeat Galadriel in hand-to-hand combat after killing Lord Celebrimbor. Could this have been a Morgul blade? The series emphasizes the emotional connection and now resentment between them.
However, can Galadriel (Morfydd Clark)die? This type of weapon can affect an Elf over time, not only physically but spiritually. Galadriel appears to be moving toward a wraith-like unconsciousness, which could lead to a slow, agonizing death.
This might explain why Elves like Elrond and Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova) have not died from their wounds, but Galadriel is fading.
Who is “The Stranger”?
Tom Bombadil (Rory Kinnear) asks “The Stranger” (Daniel Weyman) his name. He thinks about it, then says, “Gandalf.” However, before that, the Dark Wizard (played by Academy Award nominee Ciarán Hinds) approaches him, who is in the middle of an existential crisis of his own.
He is now called “Great Grand Elf” by Nori, Poppy, Merimac, and Gundabel, who are all returning to the Shire on their first migration. The Stranger comments to Nori that they are so different. Nori, however, before leaving, tells him, “Not so different at all, if you ask me.”
This is when Gandalf begins to wander. As Tom says, a wizard doesn’t find his staff; the staff finds him. Gandalf picks up the magical piece of wood, and the rest is history.

Prime Video’sThe Lord of the Rings: The Rings of PowerSeason 2 Episode 8 Ending Explained: How Does Elrond save Galadriel?
The Rings of Power’ssecond season finale ends with Elrond using Nenya, the Ring of Water, to save Galadriel’s life. Surrounding Galadriel are Elrond, Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker), and Arondir. After she jumped off a cliff, the trio found her, telling Sauron he needed to heal himself and keep the ring.
Gil-galad tells them that her spirit is being pulled toward the shadow realm. He attempts to use Vilya, the Ring of Air, but tells them he cannot save her. Elrond, however, claims he can after finding Nenya beside her. Days later, she awakens, and all four are hidden in a sanctuary, protected by the elder rings.
Gil-galad poses a question to the group: they must either build their defenses or bring the fight to Sauron. Galadriel stands and talks about how the sun is still shining. All four head to the waterfall, overlooking the group after the battle. They cheer, and the High King holds up his sword.
