Hey, What’s Going On With The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered?
There’s a lot of discourse surrounding The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, here’s why.
The Cycle Of Violence
We all rememberthatE3 The Last of Us Part 2reveal trailer, right? We see Ellie coming up against some pretty brutal Seraphites as she makes her way around a dimly lit store. Towards the end of the clip, Ellie faces her biggest and meanest brute as he swings a massive hammer at her until she finally manages to fire some arrows into his beefy exterior, finally bringing him to his knees.
Getting out her machete, she’s able to hack at his neck in one of the game’s most horrific animations seen yet, giving us a taste of what’s in store. If this is something that you thought was only showcased in the trailer, you were very wrong. In a post on Reddit, userFirehand_Fabianhighlighted that this graphic attack can actually be experienced in the game. It’s a really rare kill animation that requires players to obtain the machete before heading into the store and also, the Seraphite brute needs to be the last person left alive.

One comment in the thread said “Wait. You’re supposed to leave enemies?”, while another was just as surprised about this discovery, stating “WTF. You’re insane!”. In a game where you are, for the majority of its playthrough, forced to take down and kill enemies, it’s hardly shocking that many players may not have come across this really rare melee kill sequence.
As shown byScreen Rant, there’s another unique execution animation where Ellie uses two hands to bring the machete straight down on an enemy’s skull in yet another violent and savage death scene. In a game that is filled with incredible details and packed with brilliant Easter eggs, I wonder if there are even more kill animations yet to be unearthed!
