What are the 10 worst movies of 2024? There has been some debate about whether you should write an article listing the “10 Worst Films of 2024.” For me, I think it’s imperative to keep studios in check. Yes, it was an excellent year for film, and you may read our ranking of “The 20 Best Movies of 2024” as well, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t a few cinematic experiences so awful they made you regret your most precious resource: time.

Yes, some misfires had their hearts in the right place. However, most were intentionally bad and ploys to steal your money and your sanity. Check out our list and let us know if you agree.
The 10 Worst Movies of 2024
10Kraven the Hunter
Directed by J. C. Chandor
Kraven the Huntershould have been fun, but the gory, tedious, and laughable final product will (hopefully) hammer the final nail in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) for good. The main issue with the film is that it juggles too many perspectives, and the first 45 minutes drag under the weight of exposition, unfolding as slowly as thawing permafrost.

9Unfrosted
Directed by Jerry Seinfeld
A cluttered and unfunny mess, Jerry Seinfeld’s debut behind the camera is an extraordinary waste of creativity, talent, and production value. Seinfeld fails miserably to capitalize on the trend of cinema’s new obsession with tangible mass-market inventions. (Yes, the story is fiction.) The final product is entirely a distraction from the fact thatUnfrostedisn’t funny enough and cannot build on its original premise

8Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black
Directed by Tyler Perry
Tyler Perry continues delivering his gluttonous, self-indulgent theatrics. Perry’s script is often hysterically bad and continues to top itself repeatedly (in the worst possible way). Prime Video’sTyler Perry’s Divorce in the Blackis a painfully uneven feature that is almost a parody of itself (or the genre of Perry’s films).

7Borderlands
Directed by Eli Roth
Borderlandsis a generic rip-off of Guardians of the Galaxy. Writer and directorEli Rothdidn’t merely pay homage to the Marvel franchise; he blatantly stole from it. The film is heavily drenched in CGI, exposition, and poor dialogue. Another Lionsgate disaster,Borderlandsrelies heavily on repetitive scenes and narrowly linear storytelling, making the experience feel flat and uninspired.

6Canary Black
Directed by Pierre Moral
Spy films are an oversaturated genre in which audiences expect something more thoughtful and intelligent. The action needs to be extraordinary, and the plot points must be on point.Canary Blackdemonstrates how cinema is shifting from an art form to a content-streaming mill. The plot is a recycled cliché. Kate Beckinsale should recognize that her fans should demand more of our time.

5Killer Heat
Directed by Philippe Lacôte
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, and Richard Madden star in the new Prime Video filmKiller Heat, which is too thinly veiled for anyone looking to lose themselves in a gumshoe romance mystery. This weak writing and lack of depth undoes Philippe Lacôte’s film entirely from the start.Killer Heatis utterly predictable and laughable from beginning to end.

Directed by Chris Pine
Chris Pinehas crafted one of the year’s very worst films. While we can respect the effort of the Hollywood megastar to make something different, it’s the fact Pine tries too hard to be different, and the movie does so without any common sense or reason. You cannot imagine a worse debut from a filmmaker.Poolmanobfuscates that the film is too lazy to be narratively driven and shallow to be a character study.

Directed by McG
Remember when director McG made good movies? Neither do we. His latest,Uglies, won’t change anyone’s mind anytime soon. Netflix’s latest lackluster Joey King vehicle is grossly digitally enhanced and inefficacious, with themes so wide of the mark that the film practically becomes conceited.

2Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver
Directed by Zack Snyder
Our own Callie Hanna wrote aboutRebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver,“I found myself looking at the progress bar and lamenting to myself about how much of this thing I still had left to watch.” This Zack Snyder film is a vain and hollow attempt at a love child “throupling” of grandeur adventure films such asStar Wars, The Matrix, and the Indiana Jones franchise.

1Madame Web
Directed by S. J. Clarkson
I’m not sure what else there is to say aboutMadame Web. The film feels like the filmmakers were working from a storyboard rather than a script, as hardly anything connects the individual scenes. TheDakota JohnsonandSydney Sweeneymovie is myHudson Hawk—one of the most painful theatrical experiences I’ve had in my life.
