Beau DeMayo’sX-Men ’97is the current highlight of the fandom world, as people are hooked to the show adapted from the originalX-Men: The Animated Series. With 9 episodes as of now, the show features the iconic group of mutants using their powers to protect the world from threats and attacks. But the heroic acts come with severe consequences.

The highly anticipatedX-Men ’97, while being filled with nail-biting moments and thrills, also featured some of the most brutal and unforgettable deaths that fans failed to overcome. Therefore, as fans prepare for the season finale to hit the streaming platform on May 15, they seem to beg for no more deaths. But Beau DeMayo appeared confirming to kill more mutants.
X-Men ’97Showed Some of the Most Unforgettable Deaths
Since the beginning ofBeau DeMayo’sX-Men ’97, the show had hinted at the infamous Genosha massacre to take place, somewhere midway through the show. And fans of the Marvel comics are aware of the casualties that came with the attack on the nation of Genosha. Therefore, fans of the animated show had been dreading the moment, since the very beginning.

But unfortunately, the Genosha massacre took place in episode 5Remember It, of season 1. Magneto, Rogue, and Gambit were seen visiting the island when suddenly a slew of powerful Sentinels attacked the place, causing numerous deaths in just one episode. Madelyne Pryor becomes the first victim of the attack, followed by Banshee, who gets incinerated by a Sentinel blast in the sky.
Alongside Banshee, Marrow gets killed in the same blast, when Rogue and Magneto witness more casualties from a rooftop. The show features a lifeless Dazzler on a stretcher, followed by Sebastian Shaw covered in blood implied to be dead. Further, the scene turns towards the Morlock leader, Callisto, who is also seen lying dead.

Then comes Moira and Squid-Boy, who lose their lives simultaneously, alongside the others who were trying to protect Genosha. However, the most tear-jerking death appeared after Magneto gets disintegrated by the Godzilla Sentinel, in an attempt to shield some of the Morlocks saved by Gambit. Witnessing Magneto’s death, Rogue gets emotional and tries to seek revenge.

Beau DeMayo Confirms More Deaths to Come in the Finale
After witnessing uncountable deaths in episode 5 ofX-Men ’97, fans wanted a happy ending with no more casualties. Thus, taking to social media, fans began begging for a happy ending with the show gradually approaching its finale on May 15. However,Beau DeMayoseems to have different plans, as he hints at dark twists in the finale titledTolerance Is Extinction.

Responding to a tweet shared byX-Men Updates, claiming “I will not see anymore mutants die”, Beau DeMayo seemingly hinted at further deaths. Writing, “I would repost this but that would seem strangely disingenuous”, the creator seemingly confirmed that the finale would likely feature more character deaths after the devastating events of episode 5, wherein Genosha is attacked and several mutants die.
