Despite all the new trailers that Bandai Namco drops for different Tekken 8 characters occasionally, the game doesn’t have a release date yet. Tekken 8 was first teased during the Evo 2022 tournament before an official announcement arrived in September last year. Since then, the developer has confirmed up to 12 playable characters for the game: Asuka, Jin, and Jun Kazama, Paul Phoenix, King, Jack-8, Kazuya Mishima, Nina Williams, Marshall Law, Ling Xiaoyu, Leroy Smith, and Lars Alexandersson. More fighters are expected to be revealed in the near future.
As the release date of Tekken 8 is unknown, there is no information on Bandai Namco’s plans for a post-launch roadmap. While the gameplay trailers have revealed enough information about Tekken 8’s visuals and fighting mechanics, the publisher and developer haven’t confirmed anything about the game modes that will be available at launch. Also, Bandai Namco has been vague regarding the story of the newest entry.
Tekken 8 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The platform for the upcoming closed alpha sessions has not been revealed yet, but you will learn more about it if you are invited to join in.
