Taylor Sheridan’s legacy has stood strong ever sinceSicario. The Hollywood actor-turned-filmmaker has been an omniscient phenomenon and perhaps, the only good thing to come out of the industry in a long time. With a complete hold over storytelling and a knack for originality, Sheridan leaves his audience baffled every single time he conceives a new show with a host of characters.

But despite the iconic status granted by his Oscar-nominated scripts, it is the Paramount+ flagship seriesYellowstonethat remains synonymous with his name. The neo-Western drama has pervaded modern society, embedded itself in our everyday lives, and occupied a permanent space in pop culture since its arrival in 2018.
Now, Sheridan is trying to achieve the same with his Sylvester Stallone series,Tulsa King.

Two Generations Collide inTulsa King
Taylor Sheridan‘s arc in Hollywood closely resembles that ofSylvester Stallone. After a phase marked by unimaginable struggle and a long period marked by lack of success, a desperate actor turns to the typewriter to whip up a story about underdogs, antiheroes, dramatic showdowns, and gritty realism.
Both projects –Rambofor Sly andSicariofor Taylor Sheridan – catapulted them to the echelons of unimpeded fame and success, making them instant A-listers, Oscar-worthy scriptwriters, and indispensable to the evolution of the entertainment industry. However, now that both filmmakers have crossed paths decades down the line, an ingredient seems missing from the equation.

Forget Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan’s True Brainrot Universe is Tulsa King If ‘Multiple Spinoffs’ Report is True
Taylor Sheridan’s next innovative Paramount+ project,Tulsa King, focuses on a don who is exiled to the outer reaches of a rundown town where organized crime has yet to find professional success. Sylvester Stallone plays his role of Dwight “The General” Manfredi head-on, bringing all the nuances that only Sly can bring to a character, and lavishing the neo-Western feel of it all.
However,Yellowstonehas something thatTulsa Kingis in desperate need of in order to hit just the right mark and it’s high time that Sheridan or Stallone took note of it.

Tulsa KingNeeds to Learn fromYellowstone
InYellowstone, the symbiotic relationship between Kevin Costner’s John Dutton and Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler is crucial to the smooth functioning of the ranch business and Rip’s reliability provides a steady foundation for the unimpeachable reign of John Dutton.Tulsa Kingboasts of no such relationship.
The only close figure representing a Rip-Wheeler-adjacent figure in Dwight’s life is Bigfoot and Dwight is too busy making him perform the roles of a maid, a valet, a cleaner, and a bodyguard combined to give him time for anything else. Bigfoot’s character suffers from a stunted story arc as a result.

Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King Has Caused a Continuity Error in DCU- James Gunn Finally Responds to Complaints With Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr.
Played by Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, Bigfoot is in much need of a reformed storyline and the fans are beginning to notice. As pointed out by a Reddit user:
If Mike “Cash Flo” Walden does get more screentime in the seasons to come, endowing his character with more responsibilities like that of Rip Wheeler inYellowstone, not only will Dwight gain a serious advantage over his enemies butTulsa Kingas a whole would also grow more interesting to watch after its disastrous turn in Season 2.
It also helps to appreciate the fact that the wrestler-turned-actor is already making enough of an impression on the audience for him to command an outcry from theTulsa Kingfandom.
