Personally speaking, I’ve been a big fan of Makoto Shinkai since the early 2000s withHoshi no Koe, and theYs I&II Completeopenings, though I only learned years later that he directed these. It’s almost surreal Makoto Shinkai is releasing so many long-feature films now and in such a short time. I still haven’t watchedWeathering With Youreleased in 2019. I’m a bit worried and hoping theproductionofSuzume no Tojimariis going well seeing all the problems the anime industry is facing, and how these problems were only aggravated with the pandemic.
