Bandai Namco announced today via theSuper Robot Warsofficial Twitterthat bothSuper Robot Wars VandSuper Robot Wars Xwill be launching on PC via Steam and Switch. The tweet notes that more information will be available in this week’s Famitsu magazine. Meaning we should get a release date and more details tomorrow.
This is historical as it’s the first timeSuper Robot Warsgames will officially be released on PC.
Super Robot Wars Vreleased on PS4 and PS Vita in 2017 and is the firstSuper Robot Warsmain game to get an official English translation through its Asian release.
Super Robot Wars Xreleased on PS4 and PS Vita in 2018 and is the second main series game to follow the same pattern.
The last game in the main series isSuper Robot Wars T, released in March 2019.Super Robot Wars Tis currently available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with its Asian releases including an English translation as well.Super Robot Wars Trecently added an expansion pack which adds the Original main characters and mecha ofSRW VandSRW Xalong with new playable missions.The game also got an update adding many new mechanics and a new hard mode.
Super Robot WarsProducer Takanobu Terada also announced a few months ago onSuper Robot Wars' official radio show thatSuper Robot Wars Tis selling extremely well outside Japan and has the highest overseas sales for the series yet.It’s likelySuper Robot Wars Twill launch on Steam one day as well.
It’s also worth noting that another mecha crossover series by Bandai Namco, theSD Gundam G Generationseries, also has its latest episodereleasing on Steam for the first time ever.
Lastly, Famitsu posted on itsofficial sitepreviews of the magazine as usual. Unlike Bandai Namco, Famitsu only speaks aboutSuper Robot Wars Vcoming to Steam and Switch, so it’s likelySuper Robot Wars Vwill launch first, andSuper Robot Wars Xwill launch a bit later.
