To kick off December, Bethesda has released a new beta update forStarfield, exclusively on Steam. The update, which will be rolled out in full on both Xbox and PC in the near future, only includes two fixes, but it seems like some fans didn’t even want one of them to be fixed.

The first issue to be fixed was a glitch causing “space matter to become stuck to player’s ship during space travel.” In some incredibly bizarre instances, players were finding that thewhole of New Atlantis was glitched to their spaceships. Sadly, this specific issue has not been rectified and will instead be fixed in a later update, according to Bethesda.

Weird Starfield Glitch Sees Moon “Crash” Into Another Planet

Although the crash was rather anticlimactic…

The second glitch to be fixed in the recent beta update was actually an incredibly popular weapon exploit. As detailed in the patch notes, the latest update has “fixed an issue that prevents random guns from spawning in a newly created Weapon Case after loading a save.” For those that might be unaware, this was a glitch that allowed players to create an outpost, place numerous weapon crates, and then reload the game to find that all of the crates were filled with new weapons for the player to take.

This hasn’t gone down too well with fans, as many believe Bethesda is prioritizing exploits over game-breaking bugs. We’re inclined to agree that a weapon exploit in a single-player game probably isn’t the worst thing in the world, while there are actually broken quests that should be Bethesda’s number one priority.

It’s not the first time Bethesda has jumped to fix a harmless exploit in Starfield either. Shortly after the game was released, fans noticed that various puddles in the game, such as one outside of Akila City, actually allowed you to access the vendor’s stock and take their items. Although this is also an issue in Skyrim and has never been patched,Bethesda was quick to rectify the issue in Starfield.

In response to the recent weapon exploit being fixed, one fan said, “What is with gaming devs putting exploits as a priority for patches??? There are game-breaking bugs in most games and in all of those games, this included, the exploits (that hurt nobody at all because its a single player game) get fixed first.”

Others were also quick to point out that an update with two fixes in is simply embarrassing. “I would be so embarrassed to post these patch notes after what Baldur’s Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 just shared over the last two days,“one fan said.

To check out the patch notes for the latest Starifled beta update yourself, head on over to thegame’s Steam page. But, be warned, there’s not much to look at.
