How Many Difficulty Settings Are There
There are a total of three difficulty settings in the game to choose from, with these only affecting combat in the game and no other mechanics in the game. The three difficulties are:

Theeasiest difficultyand is perfect for those focusing on the story of the game. Random encounters willalmost never pose a challenge,with many enemiesbeing eliminated in a few hits while the party receives very minimal damage.
A morewell-rounded experiencewith random encounters offering a bit more of a challenge andboss fights posing a decent challenge.Some grindingis recommended, andbuilding characters properly with SP and BP upgrades is importantto keep them viable in combat.
The hardest option, witheven the slightest mistakes in combat leading to characters going down.Many strong enemies and bosses areable to one-shot party members,as players will need tomaster every mechanic of the gameto beat even a random encounter.

Can You Change The Difficulty
While the difficulty of the game is set when a new game is created, players areable to change the difficulty at any timeoutside of combat.In the main menu, head to theSystem option at the very bottom and go to settings. From here, scroll down to"Battle Settings," and the difficulty of the game is the first optionand can be changed to any of the three options at any point.
