While playing the game,most short stories are pretty easy to spot, and Mio and Zoe comment on them out loud just to confirm you don’t miss any. However, this isn’t the case for Mountain Hike. Instead, you will need to look around yourself to find this story.
Here’s a guide to tracking this side story down and completing its content.
Mountain Hike Short Story Location
During Neon Revenge, you will need to chase the main villain to a hotel where you will ultimately have your final showdown with her. to get to this point, you will need to reach the section where you arrive at a rooftop pool.
From there, you’re able to move on to the next balcony (which has one of the benches needed for a trophy) that features a quick traversal puzzle to progress further. Zoe must pick up a porta potty and throw it onto the hotel roof across the gap while Mio is inside in order to reach the next phase of the level.
If you turn around before this, however, you will see the portal for the Mountain Hike short story. You will need to do the same thing but throw the porta potty up to the short story entrance behind you. Mio can then kick a ladder down for Zoe to gain access as well.

Mountain Hike Walkthrough
Once you enter into this short story, you will quickly figure out that it is based around the giants of Norse Mythology. Mio and Zoe will need to hike through the mountains with the help of these giants in order to complete the story.
First, you will want to walk up the mountain path and find the gong. Upon hitting it, you will come in contact with the first of many giants within this area. Jump onto his hand to reach the next area.
From here, you can grapple onto the hand of the next giant, who will bring you another giant, who will kick a path forward for you.
After that, you will need to go through two different grappling points. This brings you to a section where you’re able to wall run to two more grappling spots (one of which is a giant’s nose ring) and then you can safely land on a pole.
From the pole you’re on, you will be able to jump to some hanging vines and climb up them. At the top, the giant from earlier will appear and allow you to jump down onto his foot, letting you reach the next area.
Once you reach the area shown in the screenshot above, you’re able to grapple up to a spot where you will jump across another giant’s fingers. You will then be able to wall run across several different surfaces before grappling and reaching the feet of several giants.
Here, you will need to grapple across four different feet before reaching the hand of another giant. This giant will then take you to (surprise) another giant who will throw you to the side of a mountain. Here, you will need to grapple onto two different spots before the second one breaks.
While falling, grab hold of the ledge with your grappling hook and wall run across the next two walls. From here, you will need to jump down and land into the hand of the giant beneath you, and they will once again carry you where you need to be.
You will find a giant with an ax in front of you. Wait until he swings the ax toward you and hold onto the ax using the button prompts. This will let you reach the other side, where you will be in the final portion of this story.
From here, all you need to do is head to the fishing lure in front of you and hold on. Mio and Zoe will discuss the story before they are forced out, allowing you to finally finish and jump back into Neon Revenge.
