Spider-Man is making a comeback in the cinematic neighborhood soon. This time around, though, he is coming in animation, but the excitement about it is no less. Fans were convinced that Marvel’s 2024 would be a barren desert as the highly anticipated movieDeadpool 3was the only project scheduled to be released, but luckily that does seem to be the case.
Marvel Animation’sYour Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Manmust be ringing a bell in the minds of those fans, who were eagerly waiting for the web-slinger to have his animated show. With Disney releasing the logo for the show, fans might wonder about the possibility of any original MCU character appearing in the show, especially since Tom Holland is reportedly not a part of the project.
The one Marvel character that could have made an appearance in the show is Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. However, this does not seem likely.
Tom Holland is Not the Only MCU Actor That Might Not Be a Part ofYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Back in December 2023, Marvel made several announcements (viaIGN). Besides revealing the first details of theBlack PantherspinoffEyes of Wakanda,the studios re-confirmedX-Men ’97and announced that the show which was previously calledSpider-Man: Freshman Year(originally announced in 2021 byMarvel) would be known asYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Although this series is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is set in an alternate reality in which Peter Parker is mentored by Norman Osborn instead of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. This was a mighty good chance for the franchise to bring back Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.
