Who Is The Real Mysterio In The Game
After being introduced in Coney Island, it is noted thatQuentin Beck had operated as Mysterio in this universe before and was stopped by Spider-Man.Quentindoesn’t have any real superpowersof his own butuses technology to create illusions to confuse Spider-Man.It’s not clear exactly what his technology looked like the first time he faced Spider-Man in this universe, but it’s clearthe Mysteriums is a huge step up in his opinion.
After a few years in prison, Quentin wants to use his illusion technology for his Mysteriums, which he calls the future of entertainment. From what he says at Coney Island,he is trying to turn his life around and use his understanding of illusions for good. As playerscomplete more Mysteriums,it’ll be clear something is up, but the constant illusions make it hard to know who is really behind trapping people inside.

Who Is Mysterio In The Comics
Mysterio’s depiction in the comics doesn’t stray far from what is seen in the game. Mysteriouses technology and holograms to create realistic illusions, along with hallucinotic gas, to distort and confuseSpider-Man in combat.His hallucinotic gas is also upgraded tocounter Spider-Man’s Spider-sense,which, when paired with his illusions, makes for adifficult opponent for Spider-Man despite his lack of powers.
