Stellar Blade, the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive, is gearing up for its release, but Xbox players have been left wondering if the game will ever arrive on Microsoft’s platform. This was the same feeling the players had when Helldivers 2 launched on PC and PS5, skipping Xbox.

Stellar Blade will not be coming to Xbox soon and the reasons are big.

Players have been begging for the game to be launched on Xbox, but it seems like, unlikeHelldivers 2,Stellar Bladehas one unavoidable reason that will not allow the game to be on the platform anytime soon, and it will surely upset the players who have invested in Xbox.

Stellar Blade is Not Coming to Xbox Anytime Soon

Stellar Bladecreative director and CEO of Shift Up, Kim Hyung Tae, shared some information about the game in an interview withGematsu, including the character designs, among other things, and most importantly, why Shift Up selected PlayStation for the game’s launch and not any other.

Kim Hyung Tae said that he wanted to launch a high-quality game on“a single platform”and decided that PlayStation 5 would be the best platform for the title as it would give the“most optimal gameplay experience.”He also said that playing video games on the PlayStation helped him shape his“personal values about games.”

The technical director for the game, Dongi Lee, further added that the main reasons the developer decided to release the game on PlayStation were its fast SSD and the adaptive triggers. He said,“By utilizing the fast loading of the SSD and the adaptive triggers of the DualSense, we’re aiming to increase the player’s sense of immersion.”

Xbox missed out majorly due to these reasons, as those are integral to the best experience that the developers intend. Xbox does have vibration, but it is nowhere near the adaptive triggers of the Dualsense, and while it has SSD, the loading speed on PlayStation is much better than Xbox; hence, the game will not come to the platform soon.

Xbox’s slow-loading speed despite the SSDs and adaptive triggers of Dualsense are the main issues.

Kim Hyung Tae Also Spoke About Eve’s Character Design

The game’s protagonist, Eve, and her character design are a point of controversy, with many alleging and criticizing the developer for sexualizing the character. The director has also shared his thoughts, saying that it was intentional as the game is meant for adults, and he would like people to treat the game just like they would any other action game.

“I know that in the West, game characters have to be realistic”: Stellar Blade’s Hyung-Tae Kim Understands the Controversy, but Wants Everyone to Enjoy ‘just another fun action game’

In the same interview, Kim Hyung Tae said that he wanted to aim for an evolution in his design style that he has done so far and also did not want to move away from the“worldview of Stellar Blade.”He also said that he wanted to“intentionally create a sense of discomfort”with Eve’s character, who lands in a post-apocalyptic world, making the character feel“out of place.”

Despite the statements and clarifications from the developer, the controversy regarding the game has continued, and it may only come to an end when the game delivers an amazing gaming experience. The game releases exclusively for PlayStation 5 on August 08, 2025.
