Weapons and firearms are essential to any survivalist’s arsenal. When you are up against a deserted island full of mutated flesh-hungry cannibals, every single item counts as if your life depends on it. The player is first initially provided with an emergency pack of tools, which contains the survival axe and this is the first go-to weapon that most players will come across. But in order to go the distance when playingThe Sons Of The Forest, you are going to need something more deadly.

Those who are interested in inflicting a greater level of damage will immediately begin looking for additional firepower and weapons to add to the ever-expanding load they have at their fingertips. Not only are those players going to find the Katana to be an invaluable addition to their arsenal, but so will every other player who wants to keep their foes at bay.
Required & Suggested Items
As with the majority of valuable hidden tools and weapons, the Katana will require several necessary items and tools, such as the guest keycard. The other items are useful for any player attempting to retrieve a weapon or complete a mission, such as a tarp tent for saving the player’s progress when they arrive at the location and again when they have successfully retrieved the Katana.
This guarantees that the player will be able to respawn outside the cave if they fail inside. Saving your progress after obtaining the Katana ensures that it will be saved alongside your progress for when you pick up where you left off next time playing.
All tho not all of these items are required to successfully obtain the Katana, they are beneficial for all players that intend to make any attempt at acquiringthe hidden tools foundthroughout the map.

How To Get The Katana
The first step of the process is to navigate to the hidden cave where the Katana is found. This particular cave in question is located on the east of the map adjusted to a small lake. Depending on your spawn/save point this may take some traveling to get to however this will vary to where you being your journey and may not apply to all players.
Be sure to stock up onwater, food, and suppliesfor the travel if it’s a long journey.
Once you have successfully found the location and made it there in one piece, we highly advise that you pitch a tarp tent in the vicinity of the cave before making any attempts to get the Katana. Doing so will allow you to save your progress and rest to ensure you are ready for the task ahead.
Once you have entered the cave, navigate till you find the circular passage that’s on the floor of the cave. Once you have found the hole, go ahead and enter it to access the facility below. Once you have passed through the hole in the ground, you will find yourself in a room with two options. Left and right.
Proceed to go down the staircase and take the left to do so. You will find a security door at the bottom that’s locked and requires the Guest keycard. Proceed to unlock the door with the keycard and advance ahead. In the next section, you will need to look out for a room with several stash boxes and a yellow door.
Behind the yellow door is Facility level 1. Players should expect several cannibals and mutants to be waiting for them beyond the yellow door and it’s advised to ensure your vitality is fully restored and if you have any armor in your inventory to equip it.
Proceed to navigate to the worker’s living rooms. In one of these rooms, you can find a dead body of a work that holds a pistol. It’s worth noting that the pistol’s rail attachment is also located with the pistol.
When able to do so, search the entire facility level 1 for items and consumables.
Once you have cleared the level and gathered the pistol look for the stairwell that takes you down to facility level 2. This is the floor where the Katana is found. This is the perfect time and place to use meds or rest to regenerate stamina as you may need to defend yourself.
Once you enter level 2 of the facility, you are on the same floor as the Katana. Proceed to make your way through to the corridor of level 2. Feel free to explore and scavenge any supplies or consumables that are found and be aware of any enemies.
Once you have found the room in the image above, the next room which appears to be some form of living quarters is where the katana is kept. The katana is found on the countertop on display as you enter the room where it is ready for you to grab and add to your arsenal.
