As spotted byGematsu, a brand-newSilent Hillgame titled Silent Hill: The Short Message has been rated in Taiwan for PlayStation 5, leaving players speculating that it would act as a short demo due to the presence of the word ‘short’ in its title.
The first time we heard about this particular Silent Hill game was in September when Silent Hill: The Short Message was rated in South Korea, with no platforms listed in the description. However, a newer rating unearthed by the Japanese publication suggests that it would be exclusive to the PlayStation 5, as only the single platform was listed within the rating.

The existence of Silent Hill: The Short Message was confirmed by the Taiwanese games board with a new rating, debunking previous rumors that it had been scrapped. Although the mysterious game was rated in Korea before Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission held by the publisher back in October, Silent Hill: The Short Message was not among the other Silent Hill projects revealed during the live stream.
Konami unveiled its plans for the Silent Hill franchise during a special live stream in October of this year. Bloober Team is working onSilent Hill 2 Remakepowered by Unreal Engine 5, while No Code, the creators of Stories Untold and Observation, is taking the helm for the spin-off of the series, Silent Hill: Townfall.
Moreover,Silent Hill Fis being developed by the Taiwan-based studio NeoBards. According to Konami, it tells a new story set in 1960s Japan featuring a horrifying world. Lastly, there is a more experimental project, calledSilent Hill Ascension, which aims to blend the beloved aspects of horror and tabletop RPG games.
Nothing has been committed regarding Silent Hill: The Short Message yet, including a release date or the status of the game. However, as the game has now been rated in both South Korea and Taiwan, Silent Hill: The Short Message appears to still be very much alive.
