However, out of all the twists, the one that fans anticipated a long time ago was the presence of Shanks’ twin, who is now deemed Evil Shanks because of his actions. Since the Levely arc, when Shanks was seen meeting the Five Elders,One Piecefans have been speculating that the character who met the Five Elders was not actually Shanks but his twin or his clone.
They have also devised multiple theories to support their speculations, and they have come true with Evil Shanks’ revelation. However, after his official introduction inOne Piece,things got even more complicated as now fans speculate that he might not be Shanks’ clone or twin but his father.
Eiichiro Oda can shock everyone with one more twist
Although Oda has made a lot of things clear by introducing Evil Shanks to theOne Piecenarrative, he has not officially confirmed that the mysterious character is Shanks’ twin or his clone. Thus, u/Swimming-Ad2272 on Reddit came up with the idea that he might actually be his father, bringing another angle to an already complicatedOne Pieceplot.
While there is no evidence to support their theory, it solely relies on the fact that Evil Shanks is a part of the God Knights, who rank just below the Five Elders.
Asthe Five Elders do not age, this phenomenon also applies to the God Knights, and thus, he looks like just Shanks but actually is much older and, by relation, his father inOne Piece.

Although this theory is completely bizarre, if Oda does introduce this kind of twist inOne Piece,it will bring the biggest turn to the storyline. However, it will also disrupt the build-up to the anticipated battle between Shanks and Evil Shanks for which fans have been waiting a long time.
Eiichiro Oda’s move with Twin Shanks was already anticipated
Eiichiro Odais known for providing surprise twists in theOne Piecenarrative, but fans were able to predict one of those moments involving Shanks and his twin. Oda has always kept Shanks’ character as a mystery to maintain dramatic and emotional elements during his appearances. He even used it to manipulate fans into thinking that he was actually a villain.

Thus, began the stream of theories that tried to prove Shanks’ innocence.
While some believed that Shanks’ alleged status as a Celestial Dragon inOne Piecegranted him a meeting with the Five Elders, others were consistent with the speculation that Shanks had a twin who worked for the World Government.
Eventually, the twin theory turned out to be true, and Oda made it all clear in the Elbaph arc by officiallybringing “Evil Shanks” to the central story. But the new theory about Evil Shanks being Shanks’ father complicates things even more.
