Saoirse Ronan is one of the most versatile actors of her generation, not requiring a franchise role to cement herself as a powerhouse in the industry. However, after losing out onHarry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix(where she auditioned to play Luna Lovegood), the actor flunked out of another franchise role that could have caused her to cross paths with Emma Watson.
The rumor has it that Ronan, along with Emma Watson, was in the running to play Yelena Belova, Natasha’s adopted sister in the MCU, and possibly its current Black Widow. While these rumors have been online for quite some time, Ronan could seem to have accidently confirmed that these negotiations were indeed being made, while not saying anything outright.

The relationship between the actress and the director has been described as such, that the director could be working on a project and Ronan could simply be a part of the project because she wants to.
