The screening was followed by Q&A in a reunion of the film’s stars Sandra Bullock andKeanu Reeves. During theQ&A, Bullock recalled her audition for the role of Annie Porter in the movie.
“I was the new kid on the block and it was nerve-wracking,”she shared as she recalled the memorable audition with a makeshift bus that the filmmaker Jon de Bont had arranged for the audition.
There was a folding chair, there was a paper plate… that was the steering wheel I was handed — I had Keanu, Jan, the carpeted floor, a folding chair, and a paper plate.
Bullock also shared that she was not the first choice for the role, as three actresses were considered before her. As Reeves reflected on how passionate Jon de Bont was for the role, he added,“Then I got Sandra.”
