Unfortunately, for the priest, this matter did not end with his demotion and a strict warning. A deeper investigation into his other follies revealed a darker connection with the ex-close aid of New York City Mayor Eric Adams’s administration (via AP News).

The report alleged that the accused had made several unsolicited financial transfers to the indicted mayor’s former associate. Church officials then promptly removed Gigantiello from his official position and all fundraising duties (via Music Times).
