However, the priest who allowed it to happen had to face severe consequences leading to disciplinary action. Now new reports state the man in question has also been part of an ongoing investigation for mismanagement which cost him his position in the Church.

However, the artist was not without a few controversies and scandals both due to her music and personal life. It was the music video forFeatherthat led to a mixed reaction of bemusement and excitement from viewers who couldn’t fathom the outrageous scenes.

The video was filmed inside the Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish in Williamsburg which sparked the initial controversies. Many were shocked and horrified by thePlease Please Pleasesinger’s audacity to film inside a sacred place, while others praised and appreciated her creativity.
Unfortunately, the incident completely disrupted the life of the priest who sanctioned the activity. Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello faced a lot of backlash for allowing the pop star to film her video in the institution.

At first, he denied the knowledge of the filming that occurred inside the Church, stating he only allowed them to shoot outside the building. The Diocese of Brooklyn expressed their discontent over the se*ually provocative scenes in the video as a repercussion of which Gigantiello was let go from his administrative duties (via Y! Entertainment).

Unfortunately, for the priest, this matter did not end with his demotion and a strict warning. A deeper investigation into his other follies revealed a darker connection with the ex-close aid of New York City Mayor Eric Adams’s administration (via AP News).
The report alleged that the accused had made several unsolicited financial transfers to the indicted mayor’s former associate. Church officials then promptly removed Gigantiello from his official position and all fundraising duties (via Music Times).
TheNonsensesinger also hilariously commented on the matter during a concert at Madison Square Garden. In a clip posted on X (via @gotublocked) theGirl Meets Worldstar cheekily addressed the crowd asking whether they should talk about how her music video ultimately led to the mayor’s indictment.
