Updated by Mehrdad Khayyat on July 28, 2025:We added more information about some random attacks by Sha’Hala that you may or may not face during the battle.

Defeating Sha’Hala: First Phase
The battle against Sha’Hala featurestwo different phases, each with multiple attacking scenarios.Your main task is to shoot at the glowing corethat Sha’Hala holds in their hands or put in their heart in the second phase of the battle. This core is always vulnerableagainst your shots, even if Sha’Hala’s hands stand between your shots and the core. So, your first job is to shoot at the core whenever possible.
In the first attacking mode, Sha’Hala will turn onorange lasers. While there are over 5 lasers, you only need to worry abouttwo of them that move beneath your feet. Dodging these two lasers just requires perfect timing. If you manage tododge just before they hit you, your shield will deny any damage. Keep in mind that these two bottom lasers will rotate only a few seconds after each other.

Generally,Sha’Hala is quite slow in transitioning from one attacking mode to the other, which makes it a perfect time to deal as much damage as you can to the glowing core. The next attacking mode could be different in each playthrough, but usually, this is either a rain of frozen projectiles or a series of purple projectiles that follow you in a pattern. The former actually includes two different types.
In the first type, you will only spota bunch of hands in front of you spraying frozen projectiles. This is by far the easiest attacking mode asall you need is a single dodge to avoid projectiles. After all, only two or three of the projectiles will move toward youwith the others moving to the different sides of the arena.

In the second type of this attack, however,a series of lasers will divide the fieldand between each two lasers,a hand will spray frozen projectiles. In this case, you need tostand between two lasersandperform a dodge forward whenever a projectile is closeenough to hit you. We suggest youstand as far from the balcony’s front edge as you can, so the first and second waves of the projectiles cannot hit you.
Now, if you see Sha’Hala is shootingpurple projectiles in a unique pattern, this one is much easier to avoid. All you need is torun around and none of those projectiles will hit you. If you are experienced enough you can avoid them by only walking. An advanced version of this attack will also include orange lasers similar to frozen projectiles, but you will still have enough space to run around and avoid the purple shots. That being said, one of the orange lasers will actually move along the balcony this time, and you will need to dodge it whenever it is close enough to hit your feet.

These are all the attacking modes that you will face in the first phase, and it is quite easy to survive them only after a few attempts that you learn them all.

Defeating Sha’Hala: Second Phase
After draining half of the boss' HP, they will stop annoying you for several seconds. This is your golden opportunity to collect all the ammo boxes on the ground before Sha’Hala’s health bar appears on the screen again, which means the second phase has begun.
After draininghalf of the boss' HP, they will stop annoying you for several seconds. This is yourgolden opportunity to collect all the ammo boxeson the ground before Sha’Hala’s health bar appears on the screen again, which means the second phase has begun.

One thing that you really need to be careful about during the entirety of the battle isfall damage. If you fall down from the front edge of the balcony, you will die instantly. This could become even more dangerous during one of the special second-phase attacks, where you need to walk along the edge of the balcony to stay safe.
In the second phase, the glowing core will beinside Sha’Hala’s chest, which means their hands will not frequently intervene to reduce the damage to your shots. The first attacking scenario in the second phase is the same as the first phase, but right after that, Sha’Hala will reveal the first major attack that can kill you. Before starting the attack,Sha’Hala will perform a flipand a flow of flame will come out of both their hands. As soon as Sha’Hala’s tail meets the edge of the balconyafter the flip, anearthquake-like effect will happenwhich almost takes half of your HP. Hopefully, if you manage tododge with perfect timing, your shield will avoid this damage. However, you need to perform this dodge at either end of the balcony to avoid the flames.
After the flip and orange lasers, Sha’Hala will move to either end of the arena and will start to unleash a thick beam of energy out of their chest. At this point, no matter where you are,you will be pulled inside a gravity well. The best option here to survive this attack and deal damage at the same time is torun toward the other end of the balcony while moving along the edge. If you move on the edge, you won’t get shot by frozen projectiles coming out of the hands above your head. Once you reach the other end, start shooting the core, while still moving backward. This continuous movement will maintain your position and neutralize the gravity effect while allowing you to remain safe against the frozen projectiles and keep shooting at the core. This attack will end until Sha’Hala reaches the other end of the balcony before hitting you.
In the second major attack in this phase, Sha’Hala will drop the core in the middle and it will createa gravity effect. But this time around, frozen projectiles will come out of the core. Unlike what it may sound like, denying this attack and dodging the projectiles won’t require a tough reaction. You can simply avoid projectiles by walking around while shooting at the core. You can also use your dodge when you feel walking alone is not enough.
If the boss’health goes below 20%, it will reveal its final attacking mode, during which the core will float on top of the balcony andfour lasers will come out of itrotating on the arena. In this part, you are advised to stand as far from the core as you can, and only dodge whenever the laser is about to hit you. Don’t forget to keep shooting the core when lasers are away as this attacking mode willlast longerandrepeat more oftenwhen Sha’Hala is about to die.
When it comes toweapon mods, we suggest you useEnergy Wall, as it is a quite powerful shield to block both frozen and purple projectiles when you are either short of Stamina or Health. When it comes to character class,The Medicis probably the best character to complete this fight as you’re able to heal yourself using your skills without wasting the Dragon Heart Relics earlier in the battle.
Defeating Sha’Hala: Random Mechanics
Aside from all the boss mechanics that we spoke about earlier, there are also a number of mechanics that you may or may not face during the encounter. This strictlydepends on your campaign roll. Players who get into N’erud as their first world don’t get to see anyone of the random mechanics we are about to talk about here.
One of the random mechanics includes agreen laser that quickly passes through the areawithout dealing damage. You should take this as a serious warning because another green laser will follow the same path againshortly afterwith an electrifying effect that deals AOE damage.
One more random attack happens when the boss disappears. At this point, two hands come out of the groundand unleash green energy that deals damage. You need to keep your distance from the hands and shoot at them to deal damage directly to the boss. However, keep in mind thatgravity wellwill be spawned briefly after the hands appear on the battlefield.
