Rockstar’s all but confirmed the release ofRed Dead Redemption’s PC port with its latest launcher update leaking metadata.
Rockstar Games Appears To Be Working On A Public Mission Creator For Grand Theft Auto Online
Grand Theft Auto Online players may soon be able to create their very own missions.
In May, Rockstar’s launchersite file leaked marketing stringsthat read ‘Red Dead Redemption, and its zombie-horror companion,Undead Nightmare. Now playable on PC.’
At this point, the PC port is a reality we’re only waiting for Rockstar to accept. Hell, eventhe game’sSteamapp ID leaked; which, hopefully, could meanan immediateSteamrelease.
RDRhas been the subject of remaster and remakerumorsfor yearsnow. After all,PC players were unable to play the iconic Western while console players, even PS4 and Switch, could— aside from so-soemulators.
As with all things Rockstar, these rumors varied in quality. Some werestraight-up leaks, and others were subtleKorean rating changes. Don’t judge; it has been a long24 yearssince the game’s release.
Rockstar hasn’t commented on these recent leaks, andgiven its tight-lipped nature, it’s unlikely it will.
What’s Cooking At Rockstar?
While any chance to playRDRwithout a hopeful but lackluster emulator is appreciated, there is good reason to be concerned.
RDR’sPS4 and Switch release was neither a remaster nora remake but a “conversion.“Essentially, it offeredbarely marginal graphical improvement and an unjustifiable price tag.
The game costs $49.99 on the PS store at the time of writing.
This begs the question:what is the PC port going to be?
Information is nonexistent at the moment, but if the pattern of behavior is anything to go off, it’s likely more of the same.
Chances are Rockstar will give PC players a conversion of their own and assume modders will improve the game after the release.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Actor Points Out Clear Flaw With The Game
Roger Clark, an actor behind Arthur Morgan, shares his issues with the game
Beyond experience, it’s highlyunlikely that Rockstar diverted time and resources away fromGTA VIand thenext RDR entryand towards a remaster.
Given how big every Rockstar sequel is, it’s too risky.
As with many things on PC, the burden to fix and or improve the game will fall on the shoulders of players.Even 11 years after its release, players can turnGTA Vinto a current-gen game with the rightmods.
No official announcement, much less a release date, has been revealed as of now. That said,Rockstar could be waiting till Halloween to bank on the game’sUndead NightmareDLC, but it’s anybody’s guess.
