GungHo published itslatest financialson August 7, and revealed through it thatRagnarok Originwill be launching in Japan at some point. (Thanks to our Japanese peers at4Gamerfor pointing it out.).

GungHo mentions in the report “We have decided to to distributeRagnarok Originin Japan, and are currently making preparations for its launch”. This means a Japanese version will be launching in the future, and more hope than an English version will be coming someday.

Ragnarok Originlaunched exclusively in South Korea on July 7. A few weeks ago, the game’s Development Team Leader Jung Il Tae mentioned during a press conference how the team will be focusing on making the game a success in South Korea rather than expanding to other territories. It seems like they’ll be ready soon for broader horizons.

Ragnarok Originis available on mobile platforms. Developed by Gravity,Ragnarok Originis based on the originalRagnarok Online, upgrading its content and graphics, and is reputed to be the closest experience to the original you can get when it comes to recently released games. It’s an MMORPG, uses the same classes as the original and everything, coupled with new game design ideas like an automatic mode. This is in order to make the whole experience less tedious and deter players from resorting to certain illegal means.

As someone who never tried out the originalRagnarok Online(but watched the early 2000s anime adaptation), I’m curious to see what this game is worth and would definitely would like to try it out myself. I could check out the Japanese version too when it launches assuming it’s not region-locked.

You can read more details on the game and check out some gameplay throughour past coverage. We’ll be telling you for sure if an English version gets announced someday. In the meantime, maybe you should try out theRagnarok The Animationanime.
