It’s never fun when the prices of things go up, but sadly, that’s the way of the world. Unfortunately, even without tariffs affecting it, thePlayStation Plussubscription service is going up in price across all tiers in 15 countries.

PlayStation Plus Price Increase Kicking Off Next Week
The 15 countries affected starting next week are the following:
According toSony(viaPush Square), the price increase is due to “global market conditions.” The price increase affects all three tiers (Essential, Extra, Premium), and the increase will start in the next billing cycle of a user’s membership.
It’s not a small increase as well, as it will add $10 for 12 months of PS Plus Essential, $14 increase for PS Plus Extra, and $18 for PS Plus Deluxe, which isn’t the same as PS Plus Premium. The Deluxe tier is what Sony offers to countries that can’t stream PS3 games, so this makes it even worse in comparison.

The updated price list is as follows:
PS Plus Essential
PS Plus Extra
PS Plus Deluxe

While this doesn’t affect the US as of now, price increases are never a good thing, and is a sign of the econimic shift happening worldwide. I wouldn’t be surprised to see PlayStation Plus increase in North America soon, given we’ve seen it go up in other countries.

The last time PlayStation Plus prices increased in the US was in 2023, and it was met with a lot of criticism.Thankfully, you can stack subscriptions, and it’s a tactic used by a lot of gamers to inflation-proof their membership.
