First details were finally revealed for the nextPokemonfilm titledPokemon the Movie - Coco, which will be hitting Japanese theaters (no Western release date as of now) on July 10th. This movie will focus on Ash encountering a young boy who was raised by Pokemon, as you’re able to see in both the official movie poster and from the sneak peak trailer:

You’ll notice that Ash is in a similar outfit from theÂPower of UsandI Choose Youmovies, which coincides with what morning program Oha Suta stated: that this film is a continuation of the film continuity that started with the aforementioned movies.

Also for those who read thePokemon Adventure/Specialmanga, there’s an arcin which Sapphiretrains in the wild. Not to mention that she’s normally a very sporty and tomboyish character. It’s interesting to note that this character from Coco bears a resemblance to her.

There will also be anew animated series calledÂPokemon: Twilight Wings, which will debut on YouTube next month. The seven-part animated web series will be coming in January 2020 with each episode approximately five minutes long. Not to mention the studio that’s developing and animating is Studio Colorido, which was previously known for producing the animated filmÂPenguin Highway, and is being directed by Shingo Yamashita.

In yesterday’s Nintendo Directtwo new expansion packsforPokemon Sword and Shield, called Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra, were announced with plenty of details. The former will launch in June 2020 and the latter sometime in Fall 2020. A remake ofPokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DXfor Nintendo Switchwas also revealedand you can check out our preview of the demohere. Finally the new Pokemon Home service is setto drop in Februaryand will be available for both the Switch and mobile devices.

According to theÂlatest NPD data, the latest installment in the long running series has the highest launch month dollar sales inÂPokemon franchise history. And for the month of November,ÂSword was the third best selling game, the double pack including both titles ranking at fourth place, andÂShield being in fifth place. However, if you combined those sales then total it would bring them to the number two spot.

In other recent news,ÂPokemon Sword and Shield are already the eighth best-selling Nintendo Switch games of all time atÂsix million units sold during its launch weekend alone.
