Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment’sDetective Pikachuis just around the corner. With this being one of the biggestPokemonmovies to date, Niantic is celebrating its opening week with a new limited-time event. From Tuesday, May 7, at 1 pm PDT to Friday, May 17, at 1 pm PDT, a number of new cosmetic items and in-game bonuses will be available for players to collect.

During those 10 days, select Pokemon featured in the movie will appear in raids and more frequently in the wild. From what the trailers have shown, Psyduck, Jigglypuff, Bulbasaur, Snubbull, and Mr. Mime could all make an appearance. Making an appearance in the trailers, Mewtwo would be a solid raid boss.

Similarly to Smeargle, if you use the Snapshot feature, there is a chance a Pikachu in a detective hat will photobomb you with a chance to catch it for yourself. Catching Pokemon will also earn you double XP and Detective Pikachu themed Field Research will be available during the event’s limited period.

For your avatar, aDetective Pikachuthemed shirt and detective hat with Pikachu ears will be available in the Style Shop.
