Following up onyesterday’s announcement,Pokémonhas uploaded a video of a new Electric-type gym leader called Iono, who will be featured in the upcomingPokémon Scarlet & Violetgames. She is labeled as an influencer and a streamer and, indeed, the video plays out as if it were a standard livestream, albeit a very animated and upbeat one. Iono speaks directly to the audience, introduces herself, and plays a game that has her viewers guess what her partner Pokémon is.

Though far from a traditional trailer, as was noted yesterday, it does give us a detailed look at an upcoming gym leader and provides some information beyond that. Iono calls herself the gym leader of Levincia, which is a new town/city that had yet to be officially mentioned. The majority of the video focuses on the guessing game for her partner Pokémon.

She answers some questions from her chat, but nobody is able to guess what her partner Pokémon is, and right as she’s about to reveal it, she cheekily tells us that we have to tune in next time. Some fans were quick to jest that she even has “click-baiting” mastered.

It’s likely that this won’t be the last of Iono’s stream-like trailers prior to the game’s release, and it’s probabale the next one will reveal a new Pokémon. Iono gives some details throughout; she says it’s squishy, it’s not Magnemite, it’s sluggish with an easy-going vibe, it has two bumps on its head that people mistake for eyes, its body expands to generate electricity from its belly, and, obviously, it’s an Electric-type. Though some suggestions have been thrown out by the Pokémon community, nobody is quite sure and nothing has been agreed upon, suggesting that this is most likely a new Pokémon we’ve yet to see.

Still, the mysteriousParadox Pokémonhave yet to be confirmed, but it’s still most likely that their existence is true, given how correct the leaks have been about everything else, down to specific Pokémon that have already been revealed and their typing. It could be that this is a concept that Pokémon wants to keep under wraps to leave as a surprise for players once they get their hands on Scarlet & Violet.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will launch on November 18 exclusively for theNintendo Switch.
