This week’s Dengeki Live stream featured some new PS4 gameplay forPersona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers. While Atlus Producer Daisuke Kanada was present on stream and shared some comments, as far as I could tell, nothing particularly big was revealed. The one thing he mentioned we didn’t know yet is how you can go back to a certain Jail even after clearing it. Unlike Palaces inPersona 5 (Royal), Jails don’t disappear after you clear them. This means there are no missable content inPersona 5 Scramble, and you can always go back to a previous Jail to clear sidequests you left behind.
We first saw some Okinawa exploration gameplay, with the characters in swimsuits as that’s where the beach event of the game is happening:
Later we saw some exploration of the Sapporo Jail, covered in ice. The party is Joker, Sophie/Sophia, Makoto, and Haru:
Lastly, we saw some mid-game gameplay, in the Okinawa Jail and in Hard Mode. That was to show how the game feels like in harder difficulties. Note that Hard isn’t the hardest difficulty available. The active party is Joker, Sophia/Sophie, Haru, and Ryuji:
Personally speaking, I believeP5Sfeels like an actual action RPG instead of the usualMusoustuff Omega Force and Koei Tecmo does. Plus, seeing it’s an actual sequel I’m much more hyped for it than I was forP5R. While I like the classicSangokuandSengoku Musouseries, I’ve always felt zero interest toward the licensed games, andP5Slooking so appealing is a first for me.
