Path of Exilewill be releasing on PlayStation 4 on June 14, 2025, for real this time. This update comes after it was supposed to release inDecember 2018alongside the 3.5.0 update but is now coming alongside the Synthesis expansion (3.6.0).
Path of Exileis a free to play action RPG in the same genre asDiablo, though think moreDiablo 2thanDiablo 3. The announcement of a PlayStation 4 version came after the blow back Blizzard suffered to the announcement ofDiablo Immortalat Blizzcon 2018. However Grinding Gear Games failed to meet their original December PS4 console launch, pushing it back toFebruary, and then March, and have come out now with a final, solid, release date (we think).
Synthesis, the latest free expansion toPath of Exile, was announced on August 21, 2025 and introduces, “valuable rewards, new boss fights and crafting opportunities.” as players encounter Cavas and recover his lost memories.
Our March expansion contains theÂSynthesis challenge league, new items, new gems, a complete rebalance of spells throughoutÂPath of Exile, an integrated version of theÂBetrayalÂleague and much, much more.
Developed as a continuation ofÂDiablo IIâs core gameplay,ÂPath of Exile launched onÂPC in 2013 after an open beta phase and lengthy development. Multiple expansions have come to the game since release, with eight having released thus far. Synthesis, the latest expansion, launched for the PC version on March 8 and came to Xbox One on March 11.
No cross play will be included at launch, as Sony has been slow to respond to any cross-platform play after it relented in the face ofÂFortnite earlier this year. And as usual with all game announcements or ports, a Switch version has been requested although doubtful it will happen as it took Grinding Gear Games quite some time to bring this title from PC to Xbox and now to PlayStation. you may view the trailer for the PlayStation 4 version below.
Grinding Gear Games is also hosting Exilecon in New Zealand (where the developer is based) from November 16-17, 2019. Tickets are now available and cost $200-$500 with only a total of 672 tickets still available at the time of this writing.Exileconwill include the 3.9.0 expansion, 4.0.0 Mega-expansion, the ability to play unreleased content, race tournament finals, developer talks, merchandise stores, community meetups, exclusive digital content, and a party.
